Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We are taking Molly (4 months old) camping for the first time in a few weeks, and I was thinking of putting together a first aid kit for her (hopefully it won't have to be used!). Any suggestions on what to put in it?

When we camp, I keep things I might need for the dogs all together, even if it is a duplicate of what I might use for humans. We take Betadine for cuts or sores, some kind of 'calming' spray for skin irritation, a brush, comb and detangler (both spray-in and ointment types), a small pair of scissors, ear cleaner and ear medication, cotton pads, saline eye drops (human grade- like Systane), a vet-prescribed general topical medication like Animax (I think it is called), shampoo, and extra collar and leash, id tag on extra collars, and proof of rabies immunization. We make sure that the dogs have their flea and tick meds on several days before we leave. I make sure that I have plenty of their food or that there is a nearby store where I can buy it (food changes on a camping trip can be odoriferous and messy). Some of this stuff, is unique to my dogs' needs or isn't specifically first aid but it is what I use when traveling. I also have a dog water dish and bottles of water for the actual drive, in case we stop for a people break that doesn't have those things available.
