Food Recomendation

New member here, so pls forgive me if I am posting this message in the wrong area, I could not see where to post in the food group.

I am a proud owner of George, he is a 14 week old Goldendoodle. The breeder had him on Bil-jac regular puppy food (not large breed). George is gonna be big, he weights 32lbs already!

He has great poops, seems to love the Bil-Jac, but I wanted to switch him to something that is a bit better quality. Is there a need to switch? I was thinking of one of the blue buffalo products that are readily available. I am not sure why the breeder had him on regular puppy food rather than large breed?

Any comments or help would be greatly appreciated by his new owner and by George himself! Thanks.

Congrats on the big.pup! Whatever food you change to do it slow - exchange a little of the new kibble with the old for a couple of days. If.poop stays good add a little more and so on.
Tons of info in Food Group and so many spend lotsnof time continuing to research and update the rest of us.

Recommended Food Brands

"Large Breed" formulas are really intended for giant breeds, dogs who can take up to 24 months to reach full skeletal growth. They are something of a marketing ploy, as they are very similar in contetn to regular formulas, except for some minor variations in the macronutrient percentages. Not really necessary even for the biggest doodle puppies.

I don't know which Bil-jac formula you are using, but the ones I have analyzed contain some very bad ingredients, so switching is probably a good idea.
