I was looking for some paperwork and though I didn't find what I was looking for, I did find this:

FOUR PAGES of doggy care instructions I typed out back in the day when we had Cass, Thule and Rosco: Included headings such as Safety, half a page on "Food and Water", Treats, Potty Breaks, Cass,  Barking, "Land Mines", 1/2 page on Health/grooming, 1/2 page on their commands with commentary, Toys, Play, "other stuff", and a section on Potty in the House

Nowadays?
I scribble down what/how much to feed them, leave cleaning supplies, the dog care schedule (in case it's more than one person helping out), our telephone numbers and the telephone numbers of any other friends they can call if needed and we're good!

What do you leave for your dog caregivers/pet sitters?

Jack's only caregiver besides me is my DD, and she has a printed out sheet of his food-and-meds schedule, which I update regularly and keep on the side of the fridge. :)

In the old days I might have left something longer, but your pages of directions are more detailed than I ever thought of.  We are lucky that one of our kids dog sit if necessary.  They all grew up here so they know the routine and I leave a quick note if any of the dogs need meds (like Gordie who usually has something going on nowadays). I remind them to keep the dogs inside if the guy who mows the lawn is coming and to recheck the gate when he is done.  I only WISH they would clean up the dog poop daily like I do. Sigh ...   It is a longer note when we don't leave the dogs because we close the dog door, pick up the food and water dishes etc. - they need to be reminded if they visit the house, they need to take care of those things for their dogs! Again I WISH they would clean up dog poop their dogs leave. Sigh...

Lol! I left a similar "book" of instructions for Elizabeth when she kept my two last year. I did the same thing for "Romeo" when he left for his new home to become "Charlie". But this year there will be a lot less instructions for Elizabeth. She will just have to figure it out on her own.

Ditto for this weekend Lori LOL....  Basically mine will be "keep everything away from Bruin" LOL

Poor Bruin!

I think I have a crush on Bruin!

Me too!

I still leave my dog sitter a book of instructions!! Actually I email it to her! It is several pages long, with headed sections and instead of getting shorter seems to get longer as I keep thinking of other things to put on it. I have the same dog sitter and she has looked after my boys many times, but it makes me feel better leaving detailed instructions - I am a type A person!! I am leaving next week for two weeks and going out of the country, so I am also leaving her written authorization to make decisions about medical care incase one of them needs to go to the vet and she is unable to get hold of me.

Funny - Adina!  This looks very familiar!  The first time my sitter came to stay with Charlie - I too had 3 pages! Yikes.  Now even though I have two doodles, I have a one-pager that I update as we go.

When we travel G & M stay at their Daycare.  I just leave food and their beds.  They have our cell phone numbers and the number of our vet so it has been really simple.  Now that Murphy is on so many meds things will definitely get a bit more complicated.  We're going away for a few days in May, and I'm hoping the Daycare won't have any issues with handling all the medications.

LOL, Adina!  That was quite a long and detailed list and makes me feel a bit like a negligent doodle mom.  But then, the person who sits for Chance was with me when I picked him up from the breeder and knows him as well as I do.

Finn's sitter is a long time dog person and she's known him since he was a pup.  I think the first time, she kept him I handed her two pages of instructions right down to what toys he could have and what he couldn't :) Now I just leave phone numbers and any special instructions for food or medicine.
