Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We all have wondered when we first got our little puppies, how big they will be when they are full grown and I know I asked the same question about 2 years ago when Murphy was a pup and growing by leaps and bounds the first 5-6 months.
So here a lot of us are, 1 1/2 and 2 years later.....SO HOW BIG ARE THEY?
Did you or the breeder guess correctly?
Did the 4 months weight times 2 + approx 10 pd's formula work for you?
Is it what you expected?
Murphy's breeder, April, told me he would be about 60-65 pds when he was full grown, Mom was 60 pds, Dad about 45 pds.
Murphy was 27 pds at 4 months old. (27 x 2 + 10 = 54-64)
Murphy is almost 3 yrs old and has been aprrox 60 pds since 16 months old and has held steady at 62-64 pd's since he was about 18 months.
Show's you what April knows too :)
Bella's parents were about the same sizes, and April's guess is the same again 60-65 #'s.
Bella was 29 pds at 4 months.
And now at 14 months is about 60 pds. She still has some room to grow, but her 4 month formula would put her around 58-68 pds, so we'll see in a few months,
So they are both exactly what I was told and expected.
So how does your full grown doodle(s) weigh in?

My two haven't had any significant growth spurts at 10-12 months, but I don't know if it's normal to have one or not. She still has some room for growth as I know Murphy kept growing till at least 18 months. I can't imagine Sophie gaining anywhere near 22 more pounds in the next 9 months though.
We were told Chloe would be 35 pounds or so and at 4yrs she is 30 and a little overweight.
Myla was supposed to 35-40 range. Well when we got her she was a runt! At 3 yrs she is barely 20 pounds!
I'm happy they were wrong!!!
At 4 months Luna was 18 pounds, she is now about 38 pounds at 1 year old. :)
Her parents were a 15-20 pound mini poodle dad and a smallish 50-55 pound golden retriever mom
The breeder predicted 30-35 pounds - she was one of the biggest pups in her litter though. :)
