Hi, everybody:
Two days ago was Orthodox Christmas Eve ( some call it Greek or Russian) and we had some relatives and friends over for dinner. As soon as they started coming, a friend wanted to take Cassie for a walk, and came back with her about 20 min. later. That was around 6pm. As people were arriving, everybody was admiring Cassie, oohing and awwwing, how cute she is, how well-behaved, friendly, mellow... While we were having dinner people were sitting on the chairs around the table, and on the couches, some on the floor, and Cassie was walking around, not begging, or bothering anybody, which of course, impressed the guests even more. Then around 8pm, my cousin wanted to burn off some calories, so she took Cassie out for another 15-20 min. walk. They came back as we were starting coffee and dessert, and then I heard some excited voices 'Is she... oh, yes, she is... NO, Cassie'... she was POOPING in the middle of the living room, right in front of all the guests!!! As they started with the 'No, Cassie', she was trying to get away from there, while at the same time trying to finish the business, so you can imagine how appealing THAT was!!! One silver lining, though: the poop was hard, thank goodness!
My husband and I couldn' believe our eyes! She had not had a pooping accident in a looong time, I think over a month. She did not eat any human food that night, nor did she seem overly excited or confused with all the people around her, PLUS she had just had 2 walkes within the last 2 hours (both poopless walks, though). We think (HOPE) that she'd tried to alert us by ringing her bell, but we couldn't hear her, because of all the people talking and the kids screaming excitedly while playing WII.
After the guests left, my husband and I kept 'reliving' the moment, and had to laugh every time we remembered the sight of Cassie leaving little droppings behind, as she was trying to get away, poor girl!
If any of you have similar embarrassing stories, I'll be happy to 'hear' them :-))
