Funny story but also have a question about finding cheaper bullysticks that don't smell.

Anyone out there try bullysticksonline.com You have to buy in bulk. I am looking for a reliable site online to purchase some. I am tired of paying 7.99 and coupled with the stinking price is the horrendous gaseous odor that leaves a risdual smell on my carpet and furniture...so looking for non smelly types.

I still remeber the first time I bought one home since I didn't want rawhides. Molly loved her new treat and was chewing vigorously non stop. It didn't take long before I turned to my husband and shouted "Gary" pleasssseeeee!!!....take a break. He looked at me like I was nuts. He thought I had problems, and I thought he had problems. Of course, if you have ever bought a stinky bully stick than you know exactly what I mean. Some are so foul I have to get rid of them. When I found out what they were...Dahhhhhh...no wonder they stink. I never bothered to put the two together...Bully Stick....Hello?! Now, I found out they are also odorless...but, our stores don't selll the odorless type. It is the only treat I have found that is safe and keeps them chewing for a long time. Have a great weekend!!!! fr Lizette, Molly, and Nestle

Thanks ....I wanted to order from bullysticks.com but they did not have a contact number and I thought if I had problems...I had no recourse. I buy the 12" and they last a lot longer. Thanks again...Lizette
I never allow my dogs to chew on bully sticks in the house. They have outdoor beds and when they get a bullystick, they take it at the back door, and go directly to their beds for a chew session. I get the 12 inch bullysticks, and I put them on the timer. They get 20 minutes and now they are trained to bring them back to me after the 20 minutes are up. I put the remains in a ziplock bag and put them back with the dog food. It used to take them 3 session or l hour of chewing to get a stick completed. Now they are down to just 2 chew sessions. They will chew as long as you let them, but they get tired of it after a while and are fine with putting the sticks away for another day.
I buy them there and they are not completely odor free, but they do not smell as strong as most dog treats. I buy them in bulk, I think I got the 9" long lasting ones 35 per box for like $75.00??? Best money spent on my dogs yet! If you don't get them there, make sure wherever you order them from, they are made in the USA.
I started giving my Molly one from the day I got her. She was only 9 weeks old and has enjoyed them so much. I do throw them away when they get too short so she doesn't choke on it. I buy the 12" extra thick ones. But I am shopping around for one I can order in bulk and that is not odorless or close to it. Both my girls love them and it really keeps them occupied for hours.
We have purchased from bestbullysticks.com and we get the 12" thick sticks. Holly goes through the standard sticks very quickly and the thick ones occupy her a bit longer. They are $2.09 each plus shipping. Cheaper than in stores.

Bully sticks have been the salvation of our home. When Holly was a puppy, she would chew anything; so we kept her supplied with bully sticks and avoided accidents. When they get too small for her and might propose a choaking danger, we recycle them to our Maltese. They especially like the ones Holly has softened.

We also get ours from Best Bully Sticks online. The prices are great....definitely not odor-free though. The first few times we ordered the smell wasn't bad, but this last order.....OMG! horrible. Most company's I've looked into claim it's all in the drying process. I've been thinking of buying from somewhere else the next time, just to compare.

As far as the smell, we've always said the same as you... considering what they are....they're going to smell. But, having said that...why do the hoofs smell just as bad????
I also buy the odor free bully sticks from ebay and if anyone wants my source, just email me and I'll email you the url. As for Emma, I've given her bully sticks from the time she was about 10 weeks old, and she's never had a problem with them. But, having said that, if they have any odor at all, I throw them away! The ones I've been buying on ebay are truly odor free.
I know what you mean with the Hooves...they smell like a farm. Gets in her Muzzle.Jordan is a licker too.I also give Bully Sticks I have never noticed a smell.I must be lucky and buy the non-smell kind.
I get mine at Costco and luckily I have a poor sense of smell!
Well, I used to give rawhide stuff to my other dogs but learned that if it got lodged in the throat ...it was hard to extract....slippery. I know this is true because I had this happen once. So I opted not to use them anymore.
Hi Lucy and Sophies Mom

Where are you purchasing the odorless bullysticks. They are very expensive here in Vermont and have found only one store that carries them thus far. I was considering purchasing them on line but have read that some people have rec sticks that end up having an odor.

I have also observed the chewing and crashing which is great given the cold weather and subsequent in -door behavior.

Thanks
