Welcome Di and Mattie! Always great to have new members...
and, really? a Chocolate goldendoodle? I've never heard of this!
Thanks so much! I just posted below on one of the comments that back when I got Maddie and was digging around doodle sites....I did see a few pics of some chocolate goldendoodles.....w/ green eyes! Way cool. I think from what I remember - most of the chocolates I saw were labradoodles.....didn't see many goldens that were chocolate.....Love chocolates......but then I love them ALL! I'll have to click to your stuff and take alook at your beautiful babies!
I have a chocolate goldendoodle too. Her parents were black and cream. The breeder never had a brown pup before she had green eyes when she was a baby, now at 7 mo they have turned a yellow color. She it so cute.
Oh I love the chocolate color! Hey I tried to find your site so I could take a look at pics of your baby and saw some comments.....thought I'd pass this along.....even though it may info that is found in 50 different places on this site.....but in case not......SULFUR!!! I have a big yard.....live on the West Texas version of a green belt (the red arroyo!) and my neighbor has a terrible time w/ ticks.....probably fleas too but he talks about the ticks. Anyway.....My grandmother told me long before I ever had a dog as an adult.....sulfur your yard every year and you'll never have a problem w/ fleas and ticks.....Well I had Maggie for 15.5 glorious years and she never had to have flea baths, collars or any kind of treatment. Once in a blue moon I might find a flea or tick.....SO rarely......and all indoor/outdoor kitties have never in all those years had a problem either! Now wouldn't ya know.....this past year I didn't sulfur my yard......and my almost 2 year old Maddie doodle had fleas - I didn't even know cuz of all her long hair and she never scratches! I found out when I took her in for her first summer cut. Soooo....you know what I'm doing sometime in the next couple weeks! It doesn't kill fleas and ticks but it runs them off to the neighbors! I've told my neighbor but I don't think he believes me. Just put it out like fertilizer and water it in....not the powder of course....I have only one place in town that has the 50 pound bags of the little pebbles......Don't be skimpy.....and it's great for your soil too....and won't hurt the wildlife. Anyway.....give it a whirl! Bet it works anywhere in the country. Thanks for the welcome!
I think the sun must have been playing tricks on your eyes woman......and/or maybe your shades (did you have some on I don't remember?) made her look chocolate. She WAS a red doodle......but as she nears the 2 yr mark.....she has definitely lightened over the past 6 months or so.....Now I'm not really sure what I'd call her.....Still I think alittle darker than what most would call an apricot.....but not as dark as some of the true red ones I've seen pics of. Stange too though cuz from day one she looks different in different lighting.....and even now some of her pics she looks very red.....but I think some of that softer Golden has come out and turned her maybe more into a stawberry blonde? Back when I got her and was digging around on doodle sites I actually have seen a few pics of some chocolate goldens.....w/ green eyes! WAY COOL!
It's wonderful to have another DK'er in Texas! Welcome, Di and Maddie!
Thanks so much! LOVE the color of your baby!
Thank you! He is diluting more as he gets older, but I think he's still beautiful. He is a sweet boy and we're very proud of him!
I hope you enjoy Doodlekisses!
I'll have to take some time to dig around in here more cuz I just clicked to where I thought I'd be able to see some more pics.....since I think he's so amazing just from a head shot.....
Sandy, How nice that you ran into Di and Maddie again and now she is a member. Welcome, Di and Maddie :) Have fun at your romps.
