I am trying to figure out how big my 3 months old F1 Standard Goldendoodle (Male) will get?
(Parents: Father- 60lb slandered poodle Mother – 55lb Golden retriever)

Well the breeder told me the pup will be Standard (60-90 lb). But based on his current weight, I am bit worried he is not going to grow big. (I needed a big Goldendoodle).

Weight at 8 weeks = 5.9lb
Weight at 12 weeks = 16lb

Does anyone has experience with your dog/pup

Hi Cheryl,

Thanks. Your dog looks gorgeous. My pup's name is momo. And here is a picture of him when he was 12 weeks.
Oh my, he is soooo cute, what a face...and I love his name. lol...Please keep us informed of his progress, and antics, so many of them are clowns, and make us laugh all the time...and like I said, make sure you start his training now, it will be so worth it for the future....
My Doodle is currently 50 pounds (give or take).
His mother was a Goldendoodle (45 pounds) and his father was a 15 pound apricot poodle.
We were told our Doodle would be 25-32 pounds!! ha ha!

I remember having our pup to the vet at about 8 weeks and he was 8 pounds. At that time, the Vet told me that he had a large "growth plate" and that he would be about 50 pounds. I couldn't understand how she would know that, considering she didn't know the parents. However, 1 month later, Dex doubled his weight to 16 pounds. He continued to gain weight at each and every appt. He was a year old on Christmas and I can tell you that I know he has gotten bigger (we haven't got an official total). It seems like he was growing up (tall/skinny) and now he's growing OUT. He's filling in nice and we have gotten used to his size. (My husband kids that he's too big and we should send him back). He is definitely a lil puppy in a big puppy body!

I wouldn't worry too much. I thought ours was going to be smaller and he's probably going to be 55-60 pounds full grown--I'm sure of it.
My doodle is 4 months and 15 inches tall. Can anyone suggest how tall he will get? I'm terrified as I have read he will double so then he would an incredible 30!
N..they only double in weight at four months...not height. How much does yours weigh?
Ah. Thanks! Ok well he is currently about 24 pounds. How do you think that means he will turn out then?
N he should max out in the low 50's then...but that does not address height.
Hi and thanks. I can live with that and I promise I will keep you posted. N :-)

Hey everyone!

I have the same question about size. What age do they generally plateau in gaining weight? I unintentionally picked the biggest pup of the litter - he just stood out to me and I couldn't resist! He weighed 10 lbs at 6 weeks and is now 14 weeks and weighs 30 lbs. Does anyone have any dogs with this similar growth pattern? I am only 5 feet tall and 100 lbs so he is in puppy class now to learn leash manners! I am a little worried he will be big! I love him so much so it doesn't matter what size he grows - just curious!

his dad was a standard poodle - 55 lbs and his mom was a golden retriever at 50 lbs

Hi Liz. This is a link to a growth chart I have found useful and interesting. http://goldendoodles.com/care/growth_chart.htm
I hope it helps you.

In most of the litters I have raised the very early wt. does not correspond that well to the adult wt--some pups are more aggressive nursers and eaters and when they get home and are fed by owners, it slows down--so, it is possible that your pup will slow down too Liz--I am dogsitting my male dog's brother and he was a big, big pup but is now the smallest of the five brothers....he slowed right down once he was not gulping down his littermate's food.
