Just have to share about a close call...I use a long leash attached to the side of our house to let Honey out sometimes. I'll usually keep an eye on her most of the time or keep checking on her every few minutes. This time I went in the basement to do some laundry...was probably down there 5-10 minutes, came back up and went to let her back in and she was out there with the leashed unattached. She had gotten stuck on something and I guess the latch wasn't hooked all the way on her. I couldn't believe it, thank god she stayed where she was!! I have no idea how long she was unattached or how much she wandered around in the yard. She totally could have gone in the street or run away. She's only 3 months old, I'm totally freaked out! So proud of her for not going anywhere...will be keeping a much closer eye for a while!!

OMD! I am so happy this does not have a sad ending! Im guessing you don't have a fenced in yard? While she is so young she does need constant supervision just like a toddler. She could easily just chew the leash off if left unattended long enough. She does have razor sharp teeth at this stage. Or worse, someone could steal her. I know it might sound far fetched but there are people out there looking for a quick profit or to collect a bait dog for fighters.
Im trying not to lecture or to be mean or scare you but these are the things I was thinking. Honey is such a cutie! I love her name and her color. We would love to see some more photos of her!
Accidents do happen. They make you realize that you need to be more diligent. Now you are. Lori is correct about her chewing through any leash and theft. Dog theft seems to happen in waves as thieves work their way through a neighborhood.
Thats all that matters! Give that baby some extra love tonight!
