I have to admit to being a bit accident prone. There was the time I broke my wrist whilst dancing in the kitchen holding a baby in my arms and then there was the broken nose whilst lifting second daughter off the toilet (door swung at me) but they were a long time ago. This week I have had two (minor) accidents both while grooming Riley. First off a fat lip, Riley turned suddenly and bopped me in the face. He didn't feel a thing, I have a big lip and a bruise. Second, today as I was combing him and came to a snag I pulled too hard and banged my fingers off the counter top, the prongs of the comb jammed into my fingers which are now bruised and bleeding... I have just ordered one of those arm things to clip to the table with a noose and am hoping that this will avoid further accidents! I just wondered if any one else has had a brush with a brush?lol

Not that I can remember. But I have punched myself in the face trying to adjust the bed covers in the middle of the night. So RUDE!!! :D
I often get a blister on my hand from brushing or scissoring too much all in one go.... but thats not the same. i also stab myself often with the les poochs brush!
I too am accident prone, but so far that has been the extent of my grooming injuries
However, just last night DH carries the kitten to me to say goodnight, he sneeked up behind me (not meaning to) I turn around and bonk the kitten in the head. My head hurt, but the kitten seemed just fine lol Noggins of steel these animals seem to have!
I have cut myself with the grooming scissors. I'm so afraid of cutting Tara that I place my fingers between the scissors and her...so once in a while I get nicked! Ouch!
Me too. Barb recommends using a comb instead.
Joanne, forgot totally to add in my back, how could I forget!!! 10 days on serious pain meds from lifting Riley onto the table lol
I thought I was the clumsiest most accident prone person I knew, but I see now that I might have some competition!
Nicky, I hope your lip and your fingers heal quickly. I can't picture what that "arm thing that clips to the table" might be, but I'm not sure having a noose nearby is such a good idea, lol! Stay safe!
I mean the yoke that attaches to a grooming table that has a leash attached that holds the dog still .(typing is hurting the bruised fingers lol)
OMG I am laughing so hard I think I've injured my stomach !
LOL!
This whole conversation has me laughing out loud. My family must know I'm on DK because this happens all of the time. I love DKers! Hope you heal up quickly, Nicky! and the rest of you. ;o)
