Grooming Question

Hey everyone :)  Just wondering, does anyone keep their labradoodle's hair short just because of the fact that it is so hard to maintain?  My Lani girl her hair is ALWAYS getting knotted and she LOVES to dunk her face into her water bowl and play rough with her sister.  I find if her hair is short no problems with knots and matting.  I try brushing her but she hates it.  So, just wondering that other people do.

When I'm spending more than an hour a week on brushing and mat maintance, I cut short. I agree with Maryann, I've just got better things to do with my time and theirs. They don't care one way or the other if they are short or long. And I like both looks so its a win-win.

Thank you everyone :)  I just felt so bad about potentially having to keep her hair short but I think that's what I'm going to have to do.  Last night my husband and I tried to tag team Lan and groom her, and poor baby she had so many knots she was crying and it made me so upset.  So definitely going to keep her short from now on.  Anyhow, she seems to like it when it's short because I'm not chasing her around with a hair brush or comb lol.  Thanks for your advice :)  I don't feel so bad now.
