Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
IN searching online for a self taught dvd to guide me in grooming my goldendoodle, I came across the above titled DVD. Since my doodle is med size and more teddybear not curly, I am hopeful I can do some myself, if not all as I have all the tools (clippers also) ..I've had cocker spainiel, golden retrievers not to mention show horses and cattle I have clipped over the years. Does anyone have experience with the Grooming Your Doodle DVD - SMERAGLIA ( found it on smagdog) It was $49.99 and is on sale for $14.99. Any input or advice for another resource is much appreciated.

No, I have no idea about his particular DVD. It is probably something that breeder ( yes, that is a breeder) selling to her owners maybe?
Anyway, I have found great videos on youtube, for no cost, about grooming. I'm not perfect, but I did learn, and I do groom myself. I say, go for it. You have a lot more experience than most and you should do just fine. Remember, it grows back --so it is very forgiving while you learn
Cheryl, I think there might be some videos in our grooming group if I remember correctly. Free and very good. Have you checked there? Sorry I don't have time to check and it's been a long time (7 yrs) since I last looked at them but I remember learning a lot, from Barb I believe her name is.
We have a GREAT grooming group here on DK
Have you joined?

I say, skip the cost to Smerglia's and send the money to the webmasters of DK in the link Support DK
Because they could really use it and DK provides so MUCH more
I did order the Grooming Your Doodle DVD from smagdog (Smeraglia) and am very happy I did. The DVD was simple to follow with very good tips and gave me confidence to go ahead. I did my first blade clip on Taps yesterday. Although not as perfect as I would like around his face - he needs to be more still - but at 5 months he was fairly good. I think we can get there. I live in an area where groomers are hard to find if at all and then I would have to drive over an hour. Plus, I ask re a Goldendoodle and they reference doing a poodle cut which is not what I want at all. I only have to find a 2" comb attach for my Oster A5 clippers for next go round. I am also up grading my "grooming table" arm to a full side to side overhead as I feel it will ease the process for both Taps and myself. Photo attached of our results. I welcome any suggestions for fine tuning!
Cheryl ~ great job. Taps looks so cute!
