Are donuts a traditional food to start Hannukkah? I'm just curious.

Yes and Latkes which are potato cakes fried. Dounughts are because they are fried in oil and anything in oil is traditional Hannukkah food. Thanksgiving and Hanukah together..Happy Thanksgivukah :)

My husband ( converted first marriage) has made Latkes ;) I've never heard of the donut tradition. Thanks. Enjoy hearing about different cultures
