HAPPY ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO THE DOODLE MESSENGER!

A huge HEART to all Doodle owners who have supported the journey of sick doodles and their owners, to people who have used the site's multiple medical resources, have purchased note cards, have supported owners as they have updated on operations and treatments, who have used the Petplan Insurance Promo code(DOODLES)which continues to add dollars as a pet partner to funding the veterinarians, and to all who have visited The Messenger to read and contemplate and donate either money or thoughts for our sick 'kids'.  We celebrate a year together, and with news that one of our sick kids, Trooper, is well and off the needy list! YES!

As we begin our second year we are increasing our scope of pet companies who will partner in ways to help our owners with the cost of maintaining life of these doods with both quality and kindness.  This has been one of the worst years for donor giving, yet we are grateful for fellow owners who have quietly called individual veterinarians and made a donation. And for family friends of the sick doodles who have done the same.

We expect within the next few months to turn over some of the reins of the Volunteer Board to new folks who will take the Messenger to even greater heights from our humble beginning. Some will continue with tasks which are just being undertaken now or begun in the last few months. We will announce openings on the Board shortly.  It does take lots of time! :)

A great joy: the number of veterinarians who use our site's Medical Resources, and the many friends we have made in the United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe in a number of canine medical fields. Plus, other breed and mixed breed groups asking how we began and starting themselves.

We will soon be unveiling Fido's Leash, an interactive medical forum where questions can be asked and answered in lay terms but with suggestions for sites to visit, and always, the need to seek Veterinarian opinion and counsel. More about that later when we are ready for it to begin.

Thank you to each and every one of you for being a friend of these sick doodles, for reminding people with sick doodles to contact us, and for sharing the message as you do.  All of our sick doodles continue to need you both financially and emotionally. Look for new announcements from the Messenger with continued plans for fund raising (yes you can still order Doodle cards through Marlow's Pawporium on our site.)

Worrisome news on our first Anniversary.  Ruth's Riley in Canada has had some sort of a setback following surgery approximately 3 weeks ago.  We await news from Ruth who is at the Vet now.  He has been in therapy and doing very well, then suddenly he stopped putting down the surgical leg and is back to hopping...and very tired.  Thoughts to both of them and the healing hands of the Vet to know what has happened.  Riley cannot have his second leg surgery until this one is healed. Fingers crossed.
