Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Just wanted to jump in and thank everyone for your caring thoughts for Polly (and me) and your feedback on onesies and cones. As it turns out this was harder on me than my Polly. She spent a few hours finding her way through the house with the cone on and then it was not an issue for her at all, worried moms always make it worse, right? On her first feeling really well day she came bursting through the living room and hit the table holding my just made coffee...Cleopatra had milk baths and I am trying to be a firm believer that a caffeine bath must somehow be beneficial, you have no idea how much coffee a cup can hold until it is thrown on you.
At this point we only put the cone on when we are not going to be right there with her. If she starts to clean the tummy area she responds very well to the sound of "eh-eh" and leaves it alone. Bless her heart, when it is time to put the cone back on she comes right over and stretches her neck out while she sticks her head inside. That is the same motion she does when it is time to put her walking leash and collar on so I am thinking she does not have any problem at all.
Thanks again for all your replies.

I'm so glad that Polly has adjusted so well to the cone and obviously seems to be feeling pretty fine. She's a good girl with a good mom. :)
I am smiling for you and Polly. Great result and just how I am. i have convinced myself that worry is actually a form of prayer.
I love that, Maryann!
I am so glad that Polly is doing so great!!
I am so glad that she is healing well.
Good going Polly! You showed mom you can handle it okay, just give you a little time to understand and the right tools to settle in! And for those itches to settle down. Us moms just get worried.
