Hattie went to emergency last night and was given an IV of fluids and meds. I bought her a chew treat off the shelf (I always dehydrate ALL of her treats myself and I don't know what possessed me to buy off the shelf like that! I feel so awful. I was just trying to give her something to occupy her in the playpen while I put up Christmas lights outside.) Anyway, it was tainted with bacteria because I bought one that did not have preservatives. She was very sick. She ate some rice and yogurt this morning but is still very quiet. :( It was a Nylabone Healthy Edibles brand made in the USA. I am taking it back to the store today to have them pull them off the shelf. The only other thing that could have made her sick was her Trifexis. This is the second time she has had it and threw up last time too but just once the next day. But this time she had diarrhea and throwing up all night and all day long, so the vet thinks it was the treat since her being sick occurred about 12-14 hours after the treat and it had been almost three days since the Trifexis was given. Either way, my poor baby girl! I feel so bad and guilty.

Feel better Hattie baby. Sophie gets sick from bones and chews too. I can't give her anything. Last time we endured a whole week of diarrhea. It was terrible for all of us so she's not getting anymore ever again. All she gets are dehydrated beef liver treats and zukes training treats. Those don't seem to have an affect. I would love to get a dehydrator one day and do my own.
Oh goodness! I am glad she is okay.
I'm so sorry to hear that Hattie is sick. I hope she'll feel better soon.
Don't feel guilty. JD almost died last year from a "made in the U.S.A." chew bone, and I'm normally pretty good at choosing treats. Sometimes, a particular thing just causes a problem for one dog and not another one. I do know that Hattie is not the only one who has had a problem with Nylabones. There was no way you could have known, don't be hard on yourself.
Hugs to you both.
I'm sorry to hear this and hoping for a quick recovery.
Oh Sandy, so sorry to hear this! Hugs to you and Hattie.
I hope she feels better!
I am so very sorry Hattie was sick and that you have been so worried. I hope you see significant improvement today. Please give her doodlekisses and hugs from us. xoxo
I hope that Hattie is feeling better soon!
That's good to hear. Hope there's more good news to come soon.
Hope Hattie is on the mend and feeling great very soon.
I give Jackson Healthy Edibles all the time. I actually even gave him one last night and he is fine. Maybe it was a bad batch. Hope she feels better soon.
We're So sorry to hear that Hattie isn't feeling well Sandy
Sending Great Big Hugs and wishes for a speedy recovery!
No need to feel guilty...You're a Great Mom!
