We are awaiting the birth of our doodle- this will be our 1st family dog!-and we are working with a highly experienced, professional breeder who, like many, will choose which doodle puppy best suits our family. I have total trust in our breeder, and yet still wonder how it goes for people, in general, having someone else select the perfect puppy for you- often without ever meeting the family! I would rather have her choose- I'm sure she knows best- but I would still love feedback on others' experience having their puppy chosen for them and whether this was a positive experience for people. My breeder has been in the business for many years and has the best reputation. I just hope it ends up being the right one for us!
Thank you...thank you. We are waiting for our australian labradoodle who is going to come home in October. I had the same exact questions, so this thread has been incredibly helpful and has eased my mind. We get a litter visit next week but I think the breeder assigns the puppy. We did fill a long form but I have changed my mind about some things such as size and the litter I was originally planning for. Now my husband wants a biggest possible male puppy. For me it is important that it fits in with my family with 2 calm, little girls with mild allergies.I am hoping for mellow but playful. My breeder has a very good reputation and has bred guide dogs. I have complete trust in her but since this is my first time, it is still a little nerve racking :-)
On a side note, the waiting is sooo hard! It is (almost) like it was, waiting for my due date with my babies...lol
