Fish oil is good to give. Some people give evening primrose oil, which I think is for dogs with seasonal allergies. You want Omega 3 and 6

Evening primrose oil is good just for dry coats too. Ther is lots od info on this in old discussions.

Evening primrose oil capsules are for dry skin and coats as well as for inflammation from allergies. Usual dose is 500 mg once a day, but you can give as much as 1500 mg a day if it agrees with your dog. EPO is less likely to cause diarrhea than fish oil in some dogs.  They are soft gel-caps, like vitamin E. Evening primrose oil is a source of GLA, which converts to Omega 3 fatty acids in the body. Both Omega 3 and Omega 6 are essential fatty acids (EFAs for short), but Omega 6 is plentiful in most dogs' diets and does not need to be supplemented. It's the Omega 3 you may need to supplement. The best source of Omega 3 for dogs is fish oil, specifically wild salmon oil. You can give human fish oil capsules, or you can purchase wild salmon oil in a pump bottle and squirt some on the food. Plant forms of Omega 3 like flaxseed are not as well converted or utilized by dogs. This is something to look for on your dog food as well. You want an Omega 6:3 ratio that's 5:1 or less, and you want some fish meal or fish oil in the food as opposed to the Omega 3 content being supplied solely by flax seed.

Don't give EPO to dogs with a history of seizure disorders.

We use unscented sardine/anchovy oil.  It comes in a plump canister and is made by Iceland Pure out of California.  I put one pump's worth on his food twice a day.

Puritans Evening Primrose oil every day - 2 capsules, one in each meal.

I give Chewie fish oil every day. 2 pumps of Grizzly brand salmon oil to be precise (http://grizzlypetproducts.com/salmon_oil/salmon_oil.html)

When he was about 6 months old, his skin became dry/flaky, so I start giving him fish oil. His coat/skin are healthy now :)

I give Haley evening primrose oil daily.   Haley is a shedder but since he has been on EPO he sheds alot less.
