Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I haven't posted here in a long time but I have come and read the posts from time to time. We had heartbreaking news last week. Our wonderful doodle, Tasha, was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. This is a very aggressive cancer and we actually lost our last dog, Chewy, about 13 years ago from the same disease. The vet showed us the ultrasound and it was very advanced already. We knew from prior experience that surgery would only make her suffer more. We were able to spend the last week with her and for most of it she felt good and looked good. Would never have noticed there was something wrong unless you really knew her. Sunday night we knew she was very uncomfortable and Monday morning we knew we had to let her go. Our hearts are shattered but she will not have to suffer from this awful disease.
She was 10 years old and she was loved every day. She brought us unconditional love, joy, comfort, and loyalty. We both work at home so we were with her most of every day. She went everywhere with us, including all vacations in our trailer. She loved to go for rides, walks and hikes. She would wake us every morning by at least 6 o'clock with her beautiful brown doodle eyes and it brought a smile every single day no matter how tired we were. Her Katie Cat misses her too very much. She has been very quiet and subdued.
So all of you take an extra moment and hug your beloved doodles or whatever breed you have because they are all extraordinary. And thanks for being my sounding board this morning.
