Hello can anybody hear me?

(***UPDATE: this wasn't intended as a scolding for NOT participating :-D Merely trying to find out what works best in getting info/updates to those who WANT it***).

I feel like I’ve been trying 101 ways to communicate our latest contest and slideshow photo themes to everyone but the feedback has been so minimal that I’m wondering if even 10% of our members have seen my messages. Up until the past 2 to 3 weeks we’ve had excellent participation in our contests and slideshow submissions. But lately it seems participation has plummeted AND in part because members are not receiving the messages I send out by e-mail. I have also received emails asking about the very things I’ve already announced which makes me think the messages I send out are not making it to you.

Here are the methods I’ve used to give announcements:
1) discussions in the forum that I list as featured discussions which are always visible at the very top of the forum page.
2) emails sent to all members weekly that announce contests and slideshow themes and any other fun or important things going on at doodle kisses. These emails always have the subject line “On Doodle Kisses…” If you are not receiving these emails, but you want to, you must let me know. They may be going to your spam folder. If they are ending up in your spam folder, you can prevent that happening in the future by adding the following email to your address book:

Also, if you want to get the emails, be sure you have your email settings here on doodlekisses set so that you do receive these. Any time you change your settings, be sure to click save at the very bottom of the page.

3) For the contest we have going now, there is a link for more information between the “latest activity” and the forum discussion list on the main page.

4) this week I also put back on a scrolling announcement at the very top of the front page – is there anybody who has not or cannot see it?

So I’d like to know, which of these ways to get information to you (you who want it) works best for you? Do you have any other suggestions for how you’d like news and updates and contest announcements displayed?

The occasional increased slowness is why I stopped using the scrolling announcement in the past and I hesitated using it this time -- and I won't use them often-but was trying one extra way to sort of wave a flag and be sure I left "no stone unturned" in an effort to make all members aware.

I receive your e-mails, although, they do end up in SPAM periodically. I like this form of communicating announcements.

I guess my Doodles aren't well trained. They don't do housecleaning. They are, however, great at supervising:)

The question is then do all emails with the subject line "On Doodle Kisses..." end up varying their SPAMiness or are there OTHER messages from DK that sometimes are in SPAM and sometimes NOT? Again, if you add the following address to your address book it should stop that:

Okay, I'm getting the emails, I see the scrolling at the top, which I agree, does slow things down somewhat, and I do see the featured discussions in the forum. All 3 work fine for me, so whatever's easiest for you is good!
So, no real problems on this end...other than still not being able to get rid of the private profile on my page so only "my friends" can see and leave me comments.

Yup, I receive all your emails! Personally, I receive so much junk mail that I come straight to the page for updates. Plus, that way I can look at all the photos!

I totally understand! I ignore MANY emails and delete many daily...as long as you GET the DK announcements I'm happy...if you ignore them because you know WHERE to find the info---GRRRREAT!

Same here Adina. I've been getting all the emails. Thanks and keep them coming. I haven't had any newer photos lately and as soon as I can get these two to not run from the vacuum and actually help. Well!!!

LOL---I'm still not sure what type of photoshoot to do with my two....though I can guarantee if you members don't submit, the slide show will be FULL of my doodles :-)

I haven't been getting emails but it did see it in the forum. I didn't comment on it because I already met the requirements for the contest, over 25 pics and I already taged my pictures. Hope I win!! :D

I do appear to get regular emails from you and have notioced the scrolling banner at the top of the page.

I feel I am informed as to the content of the site and enjoy playing when I can find the time.

I know at times it feels like "is anyone out there", but trust me we see what you do and appreciate everything. Sometimes no news is good news!! It means everyone is happy...
