Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello everyone.. My wife has loved this breed and I admit I knew nothing of them but happy wife happy life so we will be getting our boy "Charlie" July 24th.. He will be about 9 weeks old and we are excited and nervous.. We have a 19mth old and 3 month old boy..they both sleep through the night already and my oldest LOVES dogs and he so easy and nice with them.. his sitter has a dog hes around all the time and whenever he sees dogs he is always pointing.. with that said yes we are crazy a infant and toddler and a puppy.. I have a dog walker hired who is also a trainer and I have raised my former English bulldog from 7 weeks to 7 years and those dogs are HARD work.
Looking for anything or anyone who is in my situation for tips and advice and looking forward to sharing our journey.. I have learned so much and these dogs sure do seem to capture the heart like my Lola did..

We got our first doodle when our oldest was 9 months and our second doodle 2 years later, 2 months before our second arrived. Our eldest laughed so hard at his first puppy, he pooped his diaper. They were like twins and the doodle was the best protector and companion one could imagine. Sadly, both those doodles have now passed away and we brought a new doodle puppy into our house last week.
We never had any issues with the kids and the doods, they do go through a slight nipping stage when they are teething though. Keep the puppy active and occupied and all is well. As far as sleeping through the night, as we have found again, you are likely to have a week where no one is going to sleep through the night due to separation whining. It helps if you havea long weekend planned to go through this and jump start the potty training.
After a week our puppy has not had an incident inside almost since we brought him home (most happened the first day). But, we took him out what seemed like almost every hour over a long weekend. He now barks to go poop and we are working on the notice for the piddle part, but no puddles most days.
Awesome good to hear how great of a bond was built with babies and Puppies.. Looking forward to the priceless memories and know it will all be worth it.. thanks everyone!
