HELP! 7 month-old Black Labradoodle (Diesel's brother!) for adoption in Toronto!

Hi all,

It was through DoodleKisses that I found our beloved Diesel in June when a message went out announcing that there were two black labradoodle pups up for adoption in Toronto. When we called about adopting one, they told us that Roy had already been adopted, but Diesel was still available. Roy went to his new family in mid July, and just a few weeks ago, the family returned him to the Rescue because they didn't think he was a good fit for them.

Roy, like Diesel, has separation anxiety. For us, it hasn't been an issue, because we already had Sunny, our 4-year old Goldendoodle, so they keep each other company. Diesel doesn't cry when we leave, because Sunny is there. The family who adopted him was not prepared to work with him on his anxiety any longer, and they felt it was getting worse, so they returned him.

I am heartbroken to learn this, and wish I could go get Roy myself, but with two giant dogs already, I would need to buy a bigger house to bring home a 3rd one. ;) So, I am hoping that one of you knows someone in Toronto who may have a big heart and lots of patience, who can offer Roy a new forever home!

Roy has a lovely temperament apparently, is crate-trained, neutered. He will need a home with an existing dog in it, to give him the company he needs to help with separation anxiety. Apparently, he's also fearful of small kids...so, this beautiful boy just needs a family with lots of patience who is willing to love him and work with him to help him get over his fears and anxiety issues. Someone who won't give up!

Diesel has issues of his own, but we love him so much...and I can't imagine our home without him. It breaks my heart knowing his brother is out there without a home and family :(

If you know ANYONE in the Toronto area, please pass this along. The ad is on PetFinder (http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/19662403), but the photos are dated. They were taken when the pups were about 4 months old. I am posting a photo of Diesel below, which was taken just last week. He is about 7 months old now, so I assume Roy must look very similar to Diesel.

I have forwarded this to my MIL - they are looking for the right dog/dogs to adopt after being dog free (they used to have 2)  for a few years. Toronto is a bit far away from them though (8 hour drive).

It says on Petfinder his coat is wire.... looks more like a loose wavy fleece from the photos - what would you say Diesel is? Does he shed? How much does Diesel currently weigh?

This is so heartbreaking. It always goes back to the luck of the draw for some of these guys on the front page slideshow. I just don't understand tossing a family member away, but I pray Roy gets a good home. Your Diesel is beautiful. Thanks for trying to help him. Have you contacted the DRC?
The dog's already with a rescue group. :)
to not even give this poor guy, who has already been through so much, a month to settle in breaks my heart

I do believe it is luck sometimes for the right dog to be put with the right family. I can't understand giving Roy back either, but I sure do understand the anxiety issues wearing one down.  Dealing with this  would be really difficult for a younger or more active family, especially if they hadn't already bonded to the dog.

My Gordie cannot be left alone without dogs/people and even in the RV, after a period of time he can't even be left with just dogs.  This is difficult for us because we can't really go exploring or be gone from the RV for much time. But it is even more heartbreaking to see Gordie all slobber-eared and upset, feeling like he had been abandoned.  Sunny can be left with dogs - preferably bigger dogs like  Clancy or my DD's lab, but not with just Gordie (anxiety feeds on anxiety)  or he tries to dig out to find people.

I see Roy is with a rescue group so I am sure they will work hard to find a family that is a better fit for him.

He is a doll and will find a good home; I am sure of it. Thank G* he is with a rescue org!!!!
Keep us posted poor little doodle. Good luck
