I was trimming the hair around Ollie's eye when he was sleeping and I dont know what I cut but all of a sudden he was bleeding - do dogs have skin tags in the corner of the eye? I feel terrible. What should I put on it - can hydrogen peroxide go on dogs near their eyes? Help!

No peroxide. I have had several instances in the last year of a scratched cornea in my dogs. They use a special (prescription) antibiotic salve made for eyes. Am I correct in assuming that any treatment would go into your pups eyes? Did you just cut a little of the skin nearby? How is he now?
Sorry to hear about Ollie's eye...hope you were able to have him Vet checked...and all is for the better now...please let us know...
If you cut the skin, I would put pressure on it til it stops bleeding. Then I would put a little triple antibiotic cream on it and see how it looks in the morning.
took him to the vet ER last night at 8 - $108 later - we have some antibiotic drops to put in for a week or so!
awwwh - I'm so sorry this happened. You're actually lucky to have gotten off w/it only costing $100...the emergency vets around here are insanely expensive!!

I almost hate to even post this, but once we were giving Kirby a haircut and my husband was trimming his ear and accidentally cut a bit of the ear (trust me we felt absolutely terrible). It was bleeding badly. I read online that you can dampen the ear and dip it in flour and it'll help the bleeding to stop. It definitely worked...just wanted to share that in case it would help anyone else.
