Help! My doodle ate a brownie. How much chocolate is too much?

I'm waiting to get through to the 24-hour emergency pet clinic so I thought I'd ask here. Charlie ate a gluten free, dairy free brownie (or maybe one and a half or two). He looks fine and is acting normal, but how long would it take for symptoms to show? Is there something I'm supposed to do? How much is too much chocolate? He's is 1 years old and is 57 pounds.

Thankful everything turned out ok.   Such a scare!  

Easter's coming up, and it's a good reminder about keeping kids' Easter baskets out of the reach of our dogs.  With two little grand babies, I'll admit to being a bit obsessive about where those baskets were at all times :)

Glad all is okay. We also keep medicine dispensers around (the ones that come with children's medicine) to give the dogs in emergency. We also give water to Tacky through them when he is dehydrated.

Sophie, that's a huge scare! I'm glad to hear Charlie is doing well!

Moeka is always trying to grab stuff off of our plates; I'll definitely add the hydrogen peroxide to our list. It pays to be safe.
