Honey is in the most capable and and loving arms of Dr. Beam and his staff in Alvarado, Texas.  I spent some time with her before his staff took her in the back.  They explained she would have her surgery by Friday or Monday at the latest.  She then will begin a grueling and painful, for the first several weeks, 4-8 week rehabilitation.  Dr. Beam's assistant explained that because she is young it will probably be no more than 6 weeks and may be even quicker.  That is good news.

Before I departed his office to start back to Savannah I asked if I could see her again.  They took me back through their incredible facility to their kennels.  She was standing there in her large kennel with her favorite sleeping rug and her toys, but looking forlorn and confused.  I sat with her and held her through the kennel while she licked my ears, also known as Doodle Kisses.  I promised I would come back for her soon.  I then left.  It was not a good.....for me.

After regaining my composure I headed toward Savannah making it to Minden, LA before stopping for the night.  Tomorrow early evening I will make it back home. All-in-all I will log about 2800 miles.  Well worth it to me...and Joyce.

Please keep in mind this was a DRC family effort.  We all participated whether it be making flight arrangements, the vets devoting their time and resources, her fosters, her transportation, those who donated for her surgery or the many who gave morale support to the latter.  As Jacquie commented today, we, DRC, are a family and a family can do awesome things together.

OK...time to get some rest and hit the road again tomorrow.  Thank y'all for everything EVERYONE has done.

Nite.

OK Folks, here it is. The day a lot of us have been waiting for. Especially us, the Clements in Ohio and boat load of DRC folks. Honey is now free to romp and roam. She was hesitant, at first when she went outside without her usual leash, but it didn't take long for her to realize she is no longer restrained while in the yard by herself. She still has to be on a leash for another week when out with Guinness and Rosco, but she will have her own time out until then.

As you all know she has had a hard time since, probably, birth and now, well, we'll let the video speak for itself. Words cannot express the appreciation for the support everyone has given her in this monumental attempt to give this puppy the life so many others have and that she deserves. DRC scores again!

If you will notice her rear legs you will not see any indication she has ever had a problem. Thanks to Dr. Beam and his staff he, actually, performed a miracle for this small being. I am sure she is so very grateful to him and everyone who has brought her to this point in her life. Everyone ought to be proud as a puppy!

I just can't put it into words!!! Honey - may you always feel the joy you are now tossing and running after that ball!!!!!!!!!

OMD!!!  Seeing Honey run and play is a special kind of joy!  Everything came together for this sweet girl.  Miracles do happen!  Thank you so much for taking such marvelous care of her, and sharing that adventure with us.

Oh, she looks wonderful! Bless all of you:)

Heartwarming and Inspirational. Thanks to everyone that made this happen.

Oh my goodness!  Tears of happiness are flowing here!  It is so wonderful to see sweet Honey running and enjoying her "new legs"!!    Bless everyone involved in her journey!  Special thanks to you guys for being such a wonderful forever family for her!!

Sweet baby girl! I've got tears in my eyes. Thank you all for your hard work.

OMD! This is the best thing I have seen in a long time. Run free Honey!

Oh how wonderful is that!!!  Grabbed a handful of kleenex before even watching this.  Love how she carefully checked the yard out then realized she was free to run and play.  She looks so happy being a dog and tossing her ball and chasing it.  She looks so happy, congrats and thanks for all you two did for her.

I will watch this whenever I doubt the existence of "miracles"...because this truly is one.  I'm so grateful to everyone who played a part in this.  DRC, YOU ROCK!

This is the best video I have ever watched!  Honey, you make my heart smile and my eyes fill with happy tears!  Watching her playing with the ball and realizing she can run just warmed my heart!  Thanks to EVERYONE who had a part in Honey's journey to being healthy and happy!  God Bless the Clement family!

and the Berry Family ... they did the hard part!
