Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Yes folks, the Hopeless Doodle Addict Trophy is STILL in Ohio!  Recently the coveted trophy was passed on to me by the previous recipient, Joanne, her doodle husband Roger and their doodles, Spud and Starlit.  Many thanks to Joanne, Roger, Joanne's Mom, Spud and Starlit for the great gifts and the kind hospitality each time we get the opportunity to see you.  We had the opportunity to pass the trophy on in person AND have a mini doodle romp at the same time with some more DK members.  We met up at Bow Wow Beach in Stow, OH. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time!  Joanne tried to have all the doodles in attendance touch their noses to the trophy.  Could this be a new tradition?  I guess if you don't like doggy germs then maybe not!  (I left the doodle nose prints on the trophy for the next recipient!)

Along with the trophy and HDA journal Joanne sent an Akron T-shirt from the town that she  lives in (she kindly washed the shirt to remove the cat hair because her cat had slept in the box that the trophy and gifts were transported in, thanks Joanne!), Roger sent a couple bags of his delicious home baked cookies for Sheba and Duke and our foster doodle, Ralph, to share. Spud and Starlit sent a couple of their favorite indoor toys (Skinneez).  Wow, they even match Sheba and Duke's coat colors!  Joanne's mother sent an adorable little key chain that has little charms on it relating to dogs and there was also a Akron, OH Visitors Guide.

And now for my Hopeless Doodle Addict acceptance speech....
First, I want to thank Adina and Clark who created this wonderful forum and have put in countless hours giving us all a wonderful place to visit and for creating the beautiful DK calendars.  Because of them, and countless others who have contributed to this site, we all  have a wealth of knowledge to draw from and have become more enlightened dog owners.  Because of DK, I have had the opportunity to meet and befriend many DK members at romps and "met" many members online that I hope to someday meet in person.  Thanks for the support, kind words and fun times, you guys rock!  I am now fostering a handsome LD named Ralph.  Because of DK I have met up with some great people in the DK community who want to save doodles and offer them a better life. Thanks to the Doodle Rescue Collective for entrusting me with these beautiful beings and giving me a chance to help.  I never realized when I clicked on that button to join DK that it would become such a big part of my life!  Many nights when my DH, Mike, gets home from work he asks me, "What's happening on DK"?  Mike knows the names of quite a few DK members and their doodles names.  He has also attended quite a few romps with me and taken lots of great photos which leaves me time to visit with everyone.  If you read this, thanks honey for letting me indulge! Last, but not least, thanks to my beautiful, wonderful, goofy doods, Sweet Sheba and Duke "Nubby" Brown for bringing lots of joy and unconditional love into my life!

Are you wondering who will receive the HDA trophy next?  I guess you'll just have to wait and see!

Congratulations and welcome to the HDA Club! And thanks for being such a great foster mom, too! You deserve all kinds of trophies, Ann, you rock!
Thank you Karen. It was fun receiving the trophy and it made it especially nice since Joanne passed it on to me in person, it was a beautiful day and we were able to have a mini romp all at the same time. Fostering has been a great experience and I hope we can help out more in the future! Thanks for all the help, Karen.
Love it! Congrats!!!!!!!
Thank you Frannie!
What a great speech and gorgeous pictures. So glad I don't have to follow this class act. I can't believe Sheba and duke posed with the Skineez like that. And I am ever so jealous of that dog park, how beautiful it is especially with the changing trees. It certainly has been my pleasure to meet all the Ann clan. I had no idea--or i forgot --you had another foster. Good for him!
Thank you. It would have been great if you could have been there F. We are also glad we were able to meet the F. clan. Now Mike can put a face to the name. Yes, Ralph is with us now and it is going to be difficult when he leaves as he fits in so well here. We have taken him quite a few places with us - nursing home, cross country meets, dog parks, long walks in different places and he has done much better than I thought he would. He's a great dog!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You deserve it. What fun it looks like you had.
Thanks Anna! We did have a great time. I wish it was just the beginning of summer and we could go back a few more times.
Ha Ha your so funny!! You have marvelous taste in ALD's!!
Thanks Nancy. To get them to pose was a little difficult as they couldn't understand why I wanted them to put their paws up on the coffee table when they knew that's a big no-no at our house. But, I was holding up a few of the cookies that Roger made to entice them. I really didn't think I could get them to hold the toys in their mouth. I was pleasantly surprised that they did!
Congrats again Ann!! I just want to know how come EVERYONE including ALL the DOODS are looking at the right camera except ME!! WTD was I doing??
Suzann, out of the close to 40 group pictures that Mike took you and your dogs were posed so nicely. This was the only photo we had of ALL of the dogs looking and most of the people looking. I was going to try to replace your head with another so you would be looking but I didn't have the time! Sorry!!
