Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Yes folks, the Hopeless Doodle Addict Trophy is STILL in Ohio!  Recently the coveted trophy was passed on to me by the previous recipient, Joanne, her doodle husband Roger and their doodles, Spud and Starlit.  Many thanks to Joanne, Roger, Joanne's Mom, Spud and Starlit for the great gifts and the kind hospitality each time we get the opportunity to see you.  We had the opportunity to pass the trophy on in person AND have a mini doodle romp at the same time with some more DK members.  We met up at Bow Wow Beach in Stow, OH. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time!  Joanne tried to have all the doodles in attendance touch their noses to the trophy.  Could this be a new tradition?  I guess if you don't like doggy germs then maybe not!  (I left the doodle nose prints on the trophy for the next recipient!)

Along with the trophy and HDA journal Joanne sent an Akron T-shirt from the town that she  lives in (she kindly washed the shirt to remove the cat hair because her cat had slept in the box that the trophy and gifts were transported in, thanks Joanne!), Roger sent a couple bags of his delicious home baked cookies for Sheba and Duke and our foster doodle, Ralph, to share. Spud and Starlit sent a couple of their favorite indoor toys (Skinneez).  Wow, they even match Sheba and Duke's coat colors!  Joanne's mother sent an adorable little key chain that has little charms on it relating to dogs and there was also a Akron, OH Visitors Guide.

And now for my Hopeless Doodle Addict acceptance speech....
First, I want to thank Adina and Clark who created this wonderful forum and have put in countless hours giving us all a wonderful place to visit and for creating the beautiful DK calendars.  Because of them, and countless others who have contributed to this site, we all  have a wealth of knowledge to draw from and have become more enlightened dog owners.  Because of DK, I have had the opportunity to meet and befriend many DK members at romps and "met" many members online that I hope to someday meet in person.  Thanks for the support, kind words and fun times, you guys rock!  I am now fostering a handsome LD named Ralph.  Because of DK I have met up with some great people in the DK community who want to save doodles and offer them a better life. Thanks to the Doodle Rescue Collective for entrusting me with these beautiful beings and giving me a chance to help.  I never realized when I clicked on that button to join DK that it would become such a big part of my life!  Many nights when my DH, Mike, gets home from work he asks me, "What's happening on DK"?  Mike knows the names of quite a few DK members and their doodles names.  He has also attended quite a few romps with me and taken lots of great photos which leaves me time to visit with everyone.  If you read this, thanks honey for letting me indulge! Last, but not least, thanks to my beautiful, wonderful, goofy doods, Sweet Sheba and Duke "Nubby" Brown for bringing lots of joy and unconditional love into my life!

Are you wondering who will receive the HDA trophy next?  I guess you'll just have to wait and see!

The gang in attendance for our little romp.  Left to right is Roger (Joanne's DH), Duke (who should be sitting with me but would rather sit with Roger and Joanne : ) , Spud (laying down), Joanne who is holding Starlit, Suzann with her doodles Bandit and Rosey, Sheba and myself, Kim and her doodle Clifford and my foster doodle, Ralph.  Kim's DH Mike and my DH Mike were taking the group photos.

What do you think of this one? Mayhem....

Here's one with all the doodles and people looking..except for me.

Well, Suzann, there is one in every crowd!!! teehee
Congratulations on joining the HDA club. Love the picture of Sheba and Duke with their bounty.
Thank you Donna...They LOVE their bounty. One bag of the cookies are already gone. I'll have to make the other bag s - t- r - e - t - c - h. We were really glad to get the toys as most of their favorite toys were chewed up within the last couple months by family members dogs that were visiting with us.
Congratulations and welcome to Hopeless Doodlery (is that even a kind of word??) Your photos were beautiful. Now I know what Joanne and DH, Suzann, and Kim really look like!! Duke and Sheba posing with the loot is a wonderful picture. I wish Ned and Clancy would pose like that. What a fun mini
Thank you Nancy. I don't know if Hopeless Doodlery is a word but you can make it one here on DK. Kinda like Joanne made "WTD" an acronym that we've seen used many times.
Two thumbs up for the phrase Hopeless Doodlery
I agree!
I'm glad you liked the pictures Caitlin. Sheba and Duke have done very well so far and haven't ripped up the toys so far. That's pretty surprising as Sheba will gut or rip the squeaker out of a toy in minutes!
YEAH! Welcome to the HDA.
Ann, Mike, Sheba & Duke, and F. Ralph. Thanks for making this summer a great summer. It is good to know you and even better to Romp with you. I've had so much fun. The park is just NOT the same when your not there. You are all so much fun. I was thinking of saying--See you in the Spring, but you think Sled Riding might be fun with all these doods?

Time for that poor trophy to fly south for the Winter maybe?
Brrrrrr....sledding? Are you bringing the hot chocolate?? Don't know if my guys would like to ride on a sled but I know that they LOVE the snow and would love to chase us down a snowy hill. Yep, time for the trophy to move on to the next doodle addict! : )
What fabulous photos!!! It is fun seeing faces and Doodles together so they are no longer just names!!! Boy, am I feeling old after seeing all of you guys. What a gorgeous place for the Doodles to romp. Our dog parks don't even come close. It is even hard to find grass and the backgrounds are chain linked fences!!! Congratulations on your award and what a great acceptance ceremony you had!!!
