Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi I'm new here and am looking to get an f1 English mini/ medium goldendoodle. I have been researching breeders for some time now and thought I finally had chosen a breeder ( almond blossom) but then they tell me that they rather not ship to New York. I am so upset because it clearly says on the website ships anywhere in US. I felt so confident in them. All the breeders I find only have F1b goldendoodles. Does anyone know of a breeder that has f1mini /medium English goldendoodles that will ship to New York?

Gisella, breeder recommendations, referrals and reviews are not permitted here in the forum. People will have to send you private messages.

Personally, I commend the breeder for not wanting to ship a puppy long distances. Clearly, she cares more about her pupps' well-being than about $.

Welcome to DK. It is an awfully cold time of year to ship. Continental used to have good climate control but I'm not sure how good United is. Surely there must be some good breeders around here but many breeders do now breed later generations.
It would have been in June anyway. Maybe someone can send me a private message if they have any suggestions . I am still searching and have not given up.

Would you consider using a site like uship.com to pay someone to drive the puppy to you?

There was a time I might have considered shipping a puppy but not anymore. Not with some of the recent stories of dogs getting lost like luggage and dog deaths.  I know some carriers are better than others but I also commend the breeder for not wanting to ship a pup that far. I'm sure there are breeders closer if you search. Or perhaps you could fly to pick up the puppy and bring it back with you in a carrier.

Thank you for all the great info and suggestions! I am still researching other breeders closer to NY waiting on some return emails. Hopefully I can make a decision on a breeder. I think that is the hardest part it's a job! Lol
Cheryl's suggestion is the most safe and I know of many owners who have flown to pick up their pups so they would be safely transported in the cabin under their seats. California to NY is a really long flight and several lay overs, so the risks of problems with a dog in the cargo are just mulitplied by every passing hour and every stop, layover or plane change.

I hope you can find one closer and I will PM you of my breeder as I think she is doing smaller doodles now. If not, she is very knowledgable and eager to help if she knows of another breeder who can accomodate you. Good luck.
Thank you so much. I appreciate the information.
