How did anyone make it from the time you knew your Doodle was born, or from the time you knew you were getting another Doodle...how did you get from that time to the time when you could pick him/her up? My Little Dood is just over 3 weeks old and I have almost 5 weeks until I get to pick him up and take him home, but I do get to meet him in 2-1/2 weeks...
My question is...how the heck do you make it until D-Day (Doodle Day) without going crazy with excitement?

While waiting for Trix to come home, DH and I played the Doodle version of ''Punch Buggie''! The first to yell ''Doodle!!'' when we saw one got a point. Made me realise just how popular doodles are....and how silly he and I are, I guess - haha
p.s. make sure to relax and get lots of sleep while waiting for Doodle-Day ;)
Oh, good luck. Let the madness begin. This is the point where I started reading every puppy training and what-to-do-before-and-after-getting-your-puppy book. I obsessively stalked the breeder's website. I texted the breeder constantly. I made a general nuisance of myself. Then I got my pup and was pretty busy for about 9 months. Then I decided I really needed another puppy. So I did it all again. Sort of a puppy version of shampoo, rinse, repeat.
I wish you the best of luck. Just keep yourself as occupied as possible. It's the longest interval in time between knowing when your puppy has arrived and when you get it in your arms. The second longest interval is the one between getting puppy and getting all the shots so you can go fearlessly (mostly) out into the world!
Have fun, though! This is such a fun thing you are doing! Yay!
What kind of doodle are you getting, and from where?
Tamson--Yes! This sounds like exactly what I have been doing! My poor breeder...I have asked her 95 million questions at least! Monday is picture day, and I have never looked forward to Mondays before in my life! Your description of your actions pre-pup sounds exactly like what I am doing!!! Too funny.
I just looked at pics of your doods and they are adorable! So awesome that you were able to get full brothers! Positively adorable.
I am getting a black standard F3b multigen goldendoodle from a breeder in OH. I go meet him this weekend, and then do the drive all over again 2 weeks later to bring him home. Yay!
Gail, it is such a long wait period! Although now that it's getting down to the wire, time is going pretty quickly! Congrats on Lola! What an adorable name for an adorable girl.
