How did anyone make it from the time you knew your Doodle was born, or from the time you knew you were getting another Doodle...how did you get from that time to the time when you could pick him/her up? My Little Dood is just over 3 weeks old and I have almost 5 weeks until I get to pick him up and take him home, but I do get to meet him in 2-1/2 weeks...

My question is...how the heck do you make it until D-Day (Doodle Day) without going crazy with excitement?

While waiting for Trix to come home, DH and I played the Doodle version of ''Punch Buggie''!  The first to yell ''Doodle!!'' when we saw one got a point.  Made me realise just how popular doodles are....and how silly he and I are, I guess - haha

p.s. make sure to relax and get lots of sleep while waiting for Doodle-Day ;)

Sara that is so funny! I know exactly what you mean! I have been super aware of doodles lately! I seek them out at dog parks and am totally doing a double take when I see them being walked on the street. Such a popular breed!
That's your doodle radar kicking in, or as we call it on DK Doodledar. Quincy is 2 1/2 and my doodledar is still on high alert!
Doodledar! LOVE it. :-)

Oh, good luck.  Let the madness begin.  This is the point where I started reading every puppy training and what-to-do-before-and-after-getting-your-puppy book.  I obsessively stalked the breeder's website.  I texted the breeder constantly.  I made a general nuisance of myself.  Then I got my pup and was pretty busy for about 9 months.  Then I decided I really needed another puppy.  So I did it all again.  Sort of a puppy version of shampoo, rinse, repeat.

I wish you the best of luck.  Just keep yourself as occupied as possible.  It's the longest interval in time between knowing when your puppy has arrived and when you get it in your arms.  The second longest interval is the one between getting puppy and getting all the shots so you can go fearlessly (mostly) out into the world!

Have fun, though!  This is such a fun thing you are doing!  Yay!

What kind of doodle are you getting, and from where?

Tamson--Yes! This sounds like exactly what I have been doing! My poor breeder...I have asked her 95 million questions at least! Monday is picture day, and I have never looked forward to Mondays before in my life! Your description of your actions pre-pup sounds exactly like what I am doing!!! Too funny.

I just looked at pics of your doods and they are adorable! So awesome that you were able to get full brothers! Positively adorable.

I am getting a black standard F3b multigen goldendoodle from a breeder in OH. I go meet him this weekend, and then do the drive all over again 2 weeks later to bring him home. Yay!

I looked at the breeders pictures daily. It was the longest wait period ever. We didn't get to meet til pick up day. At least you get to see them early. Lola is now 10 weeks.

Gail, it is such a long wait period! Although now that it's getting down to the wire, time is going pretty quickly! Congrats on Lola! What an adorable name for an adorable girl.

LOL....I remember those weeks very well!!!   And we waited til Banjo was 10 weeks!  I had taken each and every photo the breeder had sent us and created a "slide show" and used that as my screen saver on my laptop - which is always on in my living area - so we could look at photos of him when we were just sitting around.    AND, I spent hours on DK looking at posts and pics.     Congrats to you!!!!!
Carol, this sounds like exactly what I have been doing! Banjo is so cute! What a great coat!
It sounds like you are already doing this but I encourage you to continue spending as much time as you can reading/learning about how to care for/train/feed, etc your puppy. Once he is actually home you will find you either have NO time to do this or is you have the time you are too tired to do it!! LOL!  Good luck with your new baby!
Ricki, I feel like I have so much info swimming in my head that I can't keep any of it straight!!! I have been a crazed doodle-maniac trying to soak up all the info I can find, and I feel like it's in one ear and out the other!
