Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi - I was just wondering how you all discovered the "DoodleKisses" website?
I had already picked my breeder and was waiting for Myla to be born and then another eight weeks to pick her up (the longest time ever! lol) so I was going through every breeders website I could find to look at pictures of parents, puppies, coats and getting as much information I could on Goldendoodles. I also found this a good place to look for names for puppies! I have no idea which breeders website it was but there was a link to DK - I clicked on it and found this amazing website! After that I was on DK everyday and reading all sorts of posts! I learned so much! and am still learning!! I can't believe how much I don't know! lol
So, how did you become a member of DK?????

I found out I was chosen to adopt my labradoodle Bo ( used to be Stanley) from the DRC. His foster mom brought him to me to do a home check and make sure we would get along. We had a cup of tea and chatted a bit and she mentioned DK as a site to look at for information and some fun.
And if she hadn't, I would have, lol!
I tripped over it on a breeder's webpage when I was researching the labradoodles. I entered the Intercourse shirt contest (and won) and then, when I saw all the love and kindness that poured out to Sheri for her beloved Sophie, and the wonderful quilt that Laurie sent, I knew this was a special group. I also got such great advice about Quincy and learned so much about the breed and puppies. By the time the Honey saga started to unfold, I was totally hooked.
It was recommended to me by Guinness's breeder.
I was also recommended by Woody's breeder..I like this topic!! Good question!
I was looking for a Clumberdoodle (a cross between a Clumber Spaniel and a poodle). That's how I ended up finding DK. Somehow in my search DK showed up. There are no Clumberdoodle breeders that I know of. We had had a Clumber Spaniel we loved dearly, but he shed more than any living creature on earth. We thought we might be interested in that breed if we could find one. We now have two Goldendoodles... mine and our daughter's.
I've never heard of a Clumber Spaniel so I looked it up. I found it hilarious that they said that shedding, drooling and snoring are their most disadvantages attributes. Snoring!!!!
He snored so loudly that if I was downstairs watching TV and he was upstairs asleep in the bedroom, he would interrupt the dialogue!!! I loved that dog to the moon and back. He made me laugh every single day... big, loud belly laughs. He knew he was a clown at heart. He wasn't a big drooler. Kona drools more than Dudley did. Kona is my heart dog though. Truly he's in my heart forever. Dudley was so comical we are still telling stories about him and he died ten years ago.
Dudley sounds awesome!
After we lost our standard poodle in 2010, I was doing a search online looking for non shedding breeds and ran across an Australian labradoodle and thought they were just so darn cute. I researching the beginning of the ALDs in Australian and decided a multigenerational was what we were looking for. I finally found a breeder within driving distance that I trusted and put a deposit down for a medium chocolate male and brought Charlie Brown home on Valentines Day 2011. He is my heart dog for sure! In looking online for info on grooming, etc I found DK and was so thrilled. I was hoping to connect with other doodle owners and possibly find some of Charlie's siblings. I have never found one of Charlie's siblings, but have found something even better - thousands of friendly happy doodle owners with a wealth of information and so willing to share - I thank you all for that!
