Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I see so many cute names here that I just have to wonder...where they came from.
Molly is named after a very good friend of mine whom I adore. Our lab Bear was named by his first family and we decided to keep it since he knew it was his. Heidi was my mom's doxie who now has her forever home with us.
So if you don't mind sharing....how did you pick your puppies names?

Thanks Shelly! Final season begins in August.
FWIW, my next doodle will be named Vern (after you-know-who)!!
I <3 Vern!
I always like this question and never tire of answering it!
Peri's full name is Sullivan's Lady Peruna. Peruna is the mascot from mine and DH's college (SMU). We said when we got our first doodle together, if it was a male, he would be Perry and if it was a female, she would be Peri.
I made a whole list of names and read to DH and he said no, nope, no way, etc. The only one left was Chloe and I loved it so I put it on the bottom of the list to trick him.
We found Myla on petfinder and they called her Daisy but I already had a name picked out Myla-"MY LITTLE ANGEL"
( I should have met her first lol!) The name was part of my pleading and crying to DH PLEASE??? FINALLY ok. Best thing we did-she's very entertaining.
Lucy was already her name on the breeders site (the name them all right away). After much deliberation, we decided she looked like a Lucy and kept the name. The day we went to get her name tag my then 22 year old daughter said, I have something funny to tell you. When I was 7 and first say the I Love Lucy show...I thought they were saying Lucy O'Ball not Lucielle Ball. Hence Lucy O'Ball.
We new the next one would have to be an Ethel so we had fun extended her name to Ethel Mae Mutts (Ethel Mae Mertz was her name on the show.)
My granddaughter inadvertently named Owen. On the drive from her house to ours she asked my daughter (Aunt Jennie) to share stories of her long ago cat. Jennie would tell her a story about Bosco and my granddaughter would say, "Tell me another story about Owen!" Jennie would say, "Well, his name is Bosco, but here's another story." This went on for a full hour. I texted her mother to ask if she knew a cat named Owen. She texted back that she didn't know anyone named Owen. A few weeks later we got the puppy and decided he had to be named Owen. When we told my granddaughter (3 years old) why we named the puppy Owen, she turned to him and said, "Hi Bosco". The girl cracks us up!
Kona got his name because he was black as lava when we got him and we love Hawaii.
So many cute names were on our list before we got Brulee. Our family had different "likes" from the list, and had a difficult time deciding. So the family appointed me to select one. I decided on Brulee, because she is the color of my DH and my favorite dessert!. It also tied into Brulee's French side of her family...:)
She turned out to be as sweet as her namesake dessert, as well! (Creme Brulee)
