How do you respond to a comment on a picture or album?

I'm confused about the album or picture part of commenting back in response to a question. There's no 'comment back' to click on to take you to that person's page, so do you just leave a response comment in the main comment field under the picture or album? Will the response get back to the person for whom its intended? Or is there something obvious I'm missing? Thanks in advance for any help!

You can click on the person's profile photo, and it will take you to their page so you can leave them a message. Or you can just respond in the same place; if they clicked "notify me", they will see your response.

No, I don't think there is anything obvious that you are missing. Once people make a comment on a picture, album, blog, etc., they are notified of any new or additional comments added to that thread (these options are selected in settings). So just leave a response comment in the main comment field under the picture or album. The response will get back to the person for whom it is intended. But you can also click on their profile page and leave a comment directly on their page instead. I think it makes more sense to leave the comment in the discussion thread so others who have similar questions can participate and view the response. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your response. I just looked through 'settings' to find the notification setting of new or additional comments added to a thread on a picture, album, blog, etc., that you mentioned, and I didn't find any such setting. When I've left comments on a picture I haven't gotten notification of any responses or other comments on that picture. I do know that when comments are left on one of my own pictures or albums I get notified automatically, its the commenter of a picture or album that I'm wondering about, not the owner. Certainly, its easiest to just click on the person's page to leave a response, but it would be out of context without the original question or comment at hand. If there really is a setting for notification of add'l comments I'd like to know where to find it. Thanks again.

Debb, go to any photo here on DK and go down to the comment box; you will see the word "follow"..."email me when people comment." You can click that and then you will know if anyone else, including the person whose photo it is, comments.
