How many different barks does your doodle have?

This is so hilarious. Both of my girls (but especially Ginger) have a whole array of barks and sounds for every occasion. Ginger has her :

 

 "Back away from my property...and nobody gets hurt" bark

 

 "Come on, play, come on, come on, come on" bark

 "Get over here...I missed you"   Wookie growl.

 

 And the moose call which she makes when she's wrestling Penny for the tug rope (it's a growl that goes up at the end).

and most recently, her girly bark. We saw a very handsome lab at the park the other day and as they were leaving she got this super high pitched bark that I've NEVER heard before. Her tail was going ninety miles an hour while she kept jumping into playful puppy pose……sooooo funny. She reeeeeally liked him. Can't say that I blame her. He was sleek, jet black and very boyish and strong looking. His "mom" and I were cracking up at their behavior. After the usual meet and greet, he just fell down and rolled over for her. Super sweet. Anyway, the little squeaky high pitched bark just cracked me up coming from such a big girl.

I worry about that too.  They are in the house at night and off and on during the day but it never fails, when i let them out at 6 00AM they find something to bark at.  Usually crows and birds though I don't think my neighbors give a "hoot" what kind of bird they're barking at....yikes.  I keep thinking about Danyell's citation.

Amen!  The ONLY bark I love is when it's a "I gotta go potty" bark because they can't access the bells where they are.  THAT is the only bark I value!  And I suppose if ever a nefarious visitor came by...but that hasn't happened yet and since my dogs 'cry wolf' all the time I probably wouldn't even believe them if a wolf showed up.

Luna has a few barks, but it's her variety of other sounds that are really amusing :p

 

Barks:

"Who are you?"  - A loud "Ruff Ruff" - for when people are walking near her property

"I'm not sure....but I think I want to know more" - a very quiet "Rupf rupf" - for when she is curious about something but isn't sure about it

"THE DOOR!"  - a very loud "RUFF RUFF RUFF"

"Pay attention!" - a very shrill "YIP!" - when something she wants is stuck somewhere

"FRIENDS! Come see me!" - A "ruff" and a whine - when a doggie or person friend is on the other side of a gate/door

 

Other sounds:

"You are so frustrating"  - soft "r r r r r r" wookie noises - when she wants attention but isn't getting it

"My back is itchy" - "Rrrrum num num" type wookie noises as she rolls around on her back

"I want to play" - "Rrrrrrroooooorrroooo" with a toy in her mouth

Huff has 3 barks. 

"I want attention" - Whinning+high pitched bark

"Who is that over there while I am gaurding" - Deep growl and loud constant woofing

"I am annoyed" - Out of tune growl

Oh boy I HEAR this loud and clear!  Were you just in my house the other night>?  We were just talking about the different ways Tori barks for different things.  Tori also has this kind of humpf - glutteral kind of bark - made more from her throat and lips - almost like a growl - but not... funny

Oh ya, kind of a whispery bark  My girls do that too.  It comes from the gut and kind of sounds like...."Booooof"

[Bonnie and Kona]

Both of my boys have deep hearty barks for alerting us there are people out in the world somewhere. Owen, 6 mo. has the most horrible yipping bark when he wants to be with us and is in his crate or outside and wants to come in. Ear piercing. Owen is much more vocal than Kona.

Rufus has a bark when he wants to play it's a ruff ruff and the. There is the growl type of bark he sounds like chewbacca from star wars
