How many of you brush your doodles teeth and how do you go about doing it?

I just got Ava a week ago and would like to start brushing her teeth but am completely oblivious as to how to go about it.  She never wants to sit still for it and hates when i try to put the tooth brush in her mouth. Any advise would be appreciated!

I started by just putting the dog paste on the brush and letting Henry lick it.  After a time or two, try to brush a little, then a little more, then a little more.  Now it's a big game.  He runs away and barks, then comes back and sits down so I can brush more.  It's funny

Haha that sounds like quality entertainment! I tried just letting her lick the dog paste off the brush but she didn't seem to interested, maybe she didn't like the flavour or something.

Hi, there have been some helpful discussions on this in the past.  It seems like a lot of people here do brush their doodles teeth but then some are lucky and have dogs with naturally clean teeth (i'm not one of them).  I try to brush their teeth every night but typically end up missing a night or 2.  It is all about getting them used to the brush and the toothpaste.

I use Petzlife, mostly the spray.  Even the gel you really only have to put it on your finger and rub it on their gums, that's what the rep told me last time I saw them at an event.

I use Petzlife too and brush occasionally.  Ben sits still for me and actually likes the toothpaste.  Zoe is a little monster when it comes to teeth brushing.  She can get her head up at the perfect angle where it's so hard for me to maneuver the brush and so easy for her to push me away.  my husband and i usually have to do this together.  Husband sits in a chair with Zoe right inbetween his feet and he holds her chest and back so she can't jump up.  I then attempt to brush her teeth while she moves her head around like a helicopter.

I use Petzlife...I use the gel...it works amazing...I had questions about it recently because it is suspended in alcohol .....which concerned me but for some reason ..I decided it was still okay to use .....we are coming up on four years..when he was one they wanted to clean his teeth...I didn't want him put under so I refused and started searching. i most likely first heard about it on here..

To date Jack only has minimal tarter....we will see he goes for a full exam again in April .
