Toby is black, so these don't show up as much as they could, but what is the best way to get these dried, for lack of a better word, goobers out of the hair around his eyes? I try to wipe his eyes with a kleenex if I see something, but more often than not they are dried. I've tried a warm wash cloth, but still end up pulling them out with my finger nails. Is there a better way? I just want my boy to be pretty. :)

OMD! I am laughing so hard my ribs hurt!
Absolutely! Some dogs get them, and other don't. My goldendoodle has them every morning and I clean his eyes while we are in bed having our coffee. The new puppy also has them in the morning and I have gotten him used to having his eyes cleaned. It's quick and easy, but they have to learn to allow it. Now my husband also cleans his eyes and check between his toes as a matter of routine. It's just basic grooming (on a daily basis).
That is so funny, Adina. I also use my fingers with Guinness. Yesterday I found Murphy trying to lick the goobers off Guinness's face....I'm thinking they must be tasty. I also found Guinness cleaning the wax out of Murphy's "flopped back" ear, so I'm think that must have tasted pretty good too.
Ohhhh...that is soooo funny!!!
They are probably oh-so-yummy because they are salty! (must be?? like our tears??)
Ditto
I use my fingers too! My husband cought me feeding the goobers and he yelled at me for being disgusting!! I don't know what it is about those goobers but my one dog in particular loves them! As soon as I start picking around his eyes he starts licking his lips! I just have to make sure my husband doesn't catch me!!
I too use my fingers for goobers.....But an old warm washcloth works well too!
I use a wet wipe being careful not do get in the eyes.
Fingers at our house
yay for fingers!
You mean your doods hold still for this. I tried Adina's trick and sure - if I can grab Ned and get the g*** off (with fingers of course) he will be glad to have a little snack, but try grabbing a whirling dirvish!
