Toby is black, so these don't show up as much as they could, but what is the best way to get these dried, for lack of a better word, goobers out of the hair around his eyes? I try to wipe his eyes with a kleenex if I see something, but more often than not they are dried. I've tried a warm wash cloth, but still end up pulling them out with my finger nails. Is there a better way? I just want my boy to be pretty. :)

We use our Fingers too!!!!
Wait until Ned gets addicted to them... he will be sitting pretty and doing tricks to try and get MORE eye goobers.
We will keep hoping! Our other dogs do hold still for lots of things, Ned is definitely a work in progress!
Murphy holds very still while I pick because he knows he gets to eat them after I done picking. Yuk, I gross myself out...
I usually have to do it after a bath...they soften up pretty nice - urgh...one of my LEAST favorite things to do!!
I had to laugh at all of these posts, and even got a little nauseous at the eye booger treat comments...lol

But i use the chase, catch, wrestle, and pick method....Izzy is used to it, but tucker takes off running!
It is my fault, every morning before breakfast, i say to them "boogie check" (in my cheezy toddler voice) and Izzy will sit there patiently with a disgusted look on her face and eyes rolling about as if she were thinking ..."knock this s*** off" and tucker takes off running.... as soon as he sees me attacking Izzy's eyes, he is gone, under the beds, the love seat, the tables...he hides! then it becomes a game, and that is when i have to apply the "CCW&P METHOD" but i get em!! and i don't use them as treats...lol...i throw them in the garbage! But hey, times are getting tough, i may start to freeze them and use them as training biscuits....NOT!! ha ha
<---------backs quietly out of this thread as it's FAR too early in the morning for my stomach to handle these replies! LOL

I'll be back with my answer when I've had more coffee.....a pot or two should do the trick! LOL
Before finding this post this morning I figured out yesterday that fingers work best - the funny thing is Banjo was trying to lick the g*** off my fingers and I was struggling to wipe it off fingers with a tissue! Next time I'll let him have at it! Pay-off!!!
Fingers here also, but always wiped them on something...tissue, paper towel. After reading these responses, Chewie will be getting an extra treat...he will be in heaven. I wonder if he'll do a treat for them? LOL.
Gagging...... this would be a good dieting blog!! LOL
LMAO... And to add, mine will eat their toe nails if I don't pick them up quickly when we cut the nails.
OKay.... First of all - I use my fingers or a wet wash cloth. I let Tori suck on the part hanging down (the wash cloth that is) while I soak her goobers, then moisten and pull..,, and GAG! I don't give them to her... kinda' reminds me of allowing your kids to eat their BOOGERS!!! ROFL&L&L&L &L&L&L.. UH! The things we talk about -One more time... LOLOLOL
