Huff's Vet Appointment!

There is some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the bad news....Huff has a yeast ear infection.... apparently in both ears. He cried quite a bit when the vet was trying to check his ears. He doesn't cry for just nothing. He didn't even cry when he broke his nail. Poor baby, it must hurt him a lot!:( We got two kinds of drops for his ears (one for night time and one for the morning. She said it might have been from cleaning his ears too much!? I don't doubt it is true but I only clean his ears once or twice a week...WTD? Speaking of his nail, that is the good news.... She thinks he is not going to lose it!:) It still hurts him though, he didn't want her to touch it very much.... Thanks everyone for caring.:)

Glad to hear Huff's gotten checked out and soon hopefully everything will be OK.

Oh poor Huff!  Murphy has yeast in both ears right now too and we are also using the two drops.  My Vet said it was probably environmental....didn't say anything about too much ear cleaning.  I sure hope he feels better.

Sorry to hear that Huff has ear infections in both ears!  Ouch!  Give him lots of hugs -  Rooney and I hope he is all better soon!

I would use a preventive like Thornit to reduce the potential for ear infections.

I am supposed to give him drops in he morning and more at night, I forgot to give him the ones in the morning and now he is at the shop and I won't be able to see him probably until 2pm (when school gets out). Could I still give them to him then?

I think he must have actually got this ear infection a while ago but just started showing signs of it now. The only thing that makes me think that he got this ear infection a while ago is because his ears started getting dirtier sooner, that is why I started cleaning his ears twice a week. I remember a while ago, we got this ear cleaner from a local pet store and after we used it, he shook his head a lot but he stopped and we thought he was fine but never used that ear cleaner again. Maybe that was it? Hopefully, after he is cured if this ear infection we can go back to cleaning them only once a week. He used to have such clean ears.....:)

I am homeschooling but I stay home while I am in school so I don't get distracted too much at the shop haha:) I will remember tomorrow.:) I will give them to him when I get to the shop. Thanks:)
