Hurley's Day today...

Hurley woke up last night around 4 am whining...his painkiller wore off so I gave him some more....
He has been sleeping a lot today, I think his body needs a lot of sleep so he can heal...
He has been eating good and going to the bathroom...great sign!!
We took him afternoon to Skinny DIP and the owners gave him a free Doggie DIP and some to take home...how sweet...! Hurley ate that right up!! I promised him he would get it...! I got to see him come out of his "quietness"..he wagged his tail and started licking his lips....he was so happy. It felt good to see him happy...

I know he doesn't understand what is going on..he looks at me with trust though. I tell him he is going to be just fine...I know he can sense that he will be alright, because of my actions and how I talk to him. Dogs are so amazely smart. They feed off of us and we react. I am letting Hurley know this is a good thing...this surgery is going to let him live a long life....!! CYST free...yeah :)

Thank you all for praying for him...he has a lot of people who love and care for him...this is what is going to get him healed up and ready for surgery #2 and then a lifetime of living to do!!

Yes...he has been sleeping soooooo much!! Once I put him in car and said the word "skinny DIP" he came to life!! He loves some yogart...his tail wagged and everything!! That made my day...

Regina, I'm so happy Hurley is doing well.  It breaks my heart to hear he is hurting, but I know that is because he is healing.  If it makes him happy, I'd get him a Doggy Dip every day, although you may then have to change his name to Hurley Burley.  Dogs are very resilient creatures.  I'm sure his recovery will be quick and you'll have him back better than ever before you know it.  Keep us updated.  Your sweet guy has edged himself into a place in my heart for all he is going thru.  I wish you and Hurley only good things ahead.

Regina, So glad Hurley got some ice cream today. I find that ice cream makes everything feel better :) I know whenever I have surgery I am so tired for days later. Hurley will be back to normal soon.

Sounds like Hurley will be back to himself in no time. You can tell he is the sweetest doodle just by his looks. Glad you got to take him for ice cream (well yogurt), what a special treat.

I am sorry Hurley feels any pain, but I will bet it is less than the cysts when infected.  I am glad to hear that he is on the mend for surgery # 2.
