Okay, East Coasters.... when you can please check in with us. I'm up in the middle of the night on the west coast, watching the news and wondering how all of you are doing!

We are OK in Nutley, NJ.  Lots of downed trees, the wind was the scariest.  We have huge trees surrounding our home and miraculously they are still standing minus lots of big branches.  Our power came on over the weekend but lots of homes are still without power.  Cell service was sporadic.  The Doodles were fine.  Olivia who normally has seizures when we have bad storms was actually OK.  Thanks to all DKer's for your concern.  We actually barbecued (on Tuesday in between wind gusts) 8 pounds of filet mignon and sirloin burgers which were thawing.  We fed all of our neighbors and their doggies.  We are praying that the Noreaster does not hit the coast this week.  Marianne posted "there was a 2.2 Earthquake in Ringwood" that happened this morning.  Ringwood is not very far from us. Her Doodles were sensing something was happening.  Let's hope there are no more tremors to follow.  We wish the best for all of you and your Doodles - a speedy recovery for those we have not heard from yet.

If anyone is in a hotel due to Sandy, you can get financial assistance from FEMA. They are paying our hotel bill. Make sure you put in for everyone living in your home. 1 room per 4 people.

I'm so sorry for everyone who has lost something or sustained damage in this storm, whether it's your current home or a place you have family/vacation memories from.  I know everyone is working hard to get power restored, so I hope they can do that soon.  I'm glad everyone seems to be OK for the most part.

Hello doodle friends- Still now power here (I'm at work today which is actually nice).  We got a portable generator yesterday so thankfully we'll have some heat tonight (space heater).  Dex and Kirby have been very good and enjoy their numerous walks :)

Our house was not damaged but we have a lot of tree/branches down in the back and our fence is crushed.  Our neighborhood had so many trees down and it's going to take a lot to restore our power :(  We are grateful our house is ok.
