Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am back from a month long holiday! What a long trip! Was such fun but I am glad to be home! Picked up an unusual souvenier along the way! Her name is Kaela! She is an 11 week old F2 labradoodle. Abby adores her. Here are a couple of pics. She is with her white and black siblings when we first went to see her. Some other shots along with a shot of trying to get 3 uncooperative dogs to pose together for a photo! Geez it is hard to take good dog pics in my world! LOL!

OMG she is beautiful!!!! I can't believe this is your "souvenier".
HA!
Welcome back, we missed you! Now that is what I call a great souvenir...Kaela is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! No wonder you couldn't resist....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
I am curious how do you get an F2? My puppy is an F1bb, an F1b bred back to a poodle so how do you get an F2??
I've never heard of an F1bb on purpose. What was the goal with this breeding? Was it to correct a shedding coat in the F1b parent?

F2 can be one of two things:

--F1b -- which is technically second generation
OR
--the result of an F1 x F1 breeding.

The number after the F represents ONE generation past the lowest in the mix. So F1 x F89 would still be F2.
Leigh I have never heard of an f1bb either. Sorry. An F2 is second generation. Both parents have to labradoodles. Either f1 or f1b.
Ok answer to all the questions.

I picked the name Kaela...it is an ancient Hebrew name meaning "beloved sweetheart". I loved it the first time I saw it. The modern/western spelling is Kayla but I love the original.

She is a standard size. Her father is an F1 her mother an F1b. Below are the pics of the parents.

Since before I even got Abby one of my hobbies-my eye open for doodle pups. I saw an ad for these pups. The breeder owns both parents. I liked the situation. And I knew I was going right by Kelowna on my holidays. I called her and we talked for a while. She gave me the right of first refusal (promised she wouldnt sell her til I got there) . The rest is history.

This is not an expensive dog like Abby. She is not a 'famous breeder' for lack of a better term. Just a nice famliy doing a private thing. I dont have a genetic guarantee, but the parents are strong and healthy... I am happy with that.

She hasnt had an accident yet but I only picked her up on Saturday. The family did a great job getting the pups underway with all that. The little girl was so cute giving me instructions and tips. (She was all of 8 yrs old).

She is so smart. She isnt hyper like Abby but that may change yet. She loves to play too and Abby and Kaela have been 2 tumbleweeds since Saturday - LOL! I have to put Abby away at times so the poor thing has a chance to be a puppy not a real life squeak toy, and have a chance to eat, rest, poop, etc.. LOL! And she hasnt gnawed on me yet! I am dreading another pirranha doodle so knock on wood.

She's soooooooo cute=) Congrats on getting another doodle.....let the doodle games begin hahaha
OH, she is beautiful!!!!!! I am so jealous, but so not ready to conquer another wild-child! Congrats!
Parents are gorgeous. I remember this photo - you were contemplating this a while ago! Kaela's face and head hair remind me of Peri's. She is so pretty.
I knew it, I knew it. It was just a matter of time before you got another puppy. You sounded just like me, looking at puppies all the time. I was supposed to wait too but just couldn't. She is absolutely beautiful. Yankee looked a lot like that as a pup.

My 2 never stop the wrestling. It's so much fun to watch them. You will have a blast. Enjoy.

Next time you go away, bring me a souvenir.
Now you have the best of 3 worlds. CONGRATULATIONS Kaela is adorable!!!!!!!!
