Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
There are soooo many choices there is no way I could pick one out!
We are picking our puppy up next weekend and are in the process of buying all the pet products since we don't have any.
I am now on the hunt for a very good quality brush and who better to ask then current owners.
I know I'll get a lot of different answers, but that is okay too!

Good luck finding one, my puppy is five months old and I still don't know the answer to this, right now I use a kitten brush on him lol. He likes it though :D
Les Poochs is one of the more popular ones. Expensive, but in my opinion worth it. The Company was shut down and moving their facilities to the US from Germany. Not sure if they are back up and shipping again or not. I know you can check with Kemp at www.doodlecountry.com and he can tell you.
I love the Les Poochs brush. I talked to Kemp and told him the type of coat that Alma has. He sent me the one that would work best for her thick coat.
I completely agree... Les Poochs is a great brush and I wouldn't want to groom Kona with anything else. On the other hand our DD's doodle has a different coat and would be fine with a much less expensive brush. When your pup is under six months old you will just want to get him/her used to being brushed. The coat will be soft and silky and easy to get through. You won't know how "serious" a brush you will need until the adult coat starts coming in. ;o)
You will want to see what type of coat he has before investing too much IMO. A pin brush and a steal comb with rotating tines work best for Gavin. The important thing in the beginning is to just get your pup used to being brushed - so select something with not much friction. For the first little bit one of your old hair brushes should be fine.
The only brush Daphne will tolerate is the Chris Christensen wooden pin brush

If you take their "tip test" I can see why. I guess she has sensitive skin. I didn't really think a wooden brush would do very well but it does. I also use a metal comb to fluff her and work on her occasional mats.
I have the Les pooch brush and it works well but Daphne does not tolerate it for long. I can use any brush on Lucy and she is just fine so I imagine its just a personal preference and how sensitive your pup is.
Lori, which Chris Christensen brush to you have for Daphne? I'm pretty sure Myla's coat won't be changing any more and I'm thinking of the 16mm T-Brush but not sure if that's the way to go.
I just have the small wooden pin brush. Its Pink. I figured I would try that first and see how she liked it and then I could get another. But so far this plus a comb has been working for me.

Thanks!
Love the Chris Christensen pin brushes too! It is all my Buddy needs as the slicker just poofs him and makes him tangle and matt more.
