I am in an area where hurricane sandy hit bad.. On my Facebook I am friends with the local shelter The town of Hempstead they just posted a post stating that a male Labradoodle mix that is very friendly is up for adoption due to the fact that his family lost their home in hurricane Sandy. I am waiting for more information on him. If you or someone you know may be interested message me or comment me here with ur number and I can text u a pic that I took of the Facebook page. Sorry if I'm not allowed to post this.. But due to the situation I had to.. I know this shelter is over populated with dogs due to the hurricane :(

If the dog is being offered for adoption by a legitimate not-for-profit shelter or rescue group, I think it's fine to post him here. People often post available doodles they have seen on Petfinder or elsewhere.  Just not if a dog is owned by a private party who is trying to sell or rehome him.

yea it is the town of hempstead animal shelter in long island new york... and like i said the shelter is packed because of the hurricane.. i dont want something bad to happen to this baby..please share if u can

If you are friends with them, let the shelter know, many of us would foster or house, temporarily, the owner's dog until they can rebuild. How horrible to loose a home and your pets.

So many of times my son has called me from those awful places, I did not know how to spell them. To me, they seem... creepy like a lovely place to stay, short-term. Maybe it was a slip.  LOL

But, it is the vogue way to travel with college kids.

You never know, Spud will be 4  next week. Perhaps he would get hostile.

"#8280 male labradoodle mix, friendly, looking for a home" i saw that he isnt listed on the petfinder site yet.. but this was just posted this afternoon and they close at 4:45 so maybe they didnt update the page.. ill try and post a pic and i will call them tomorrow for more info..and about fostering...
