Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

When i got Dakota i did things a little wrong and i knew it.I didn't visit her birth home. The breeder brought her to my house for me to decide on.Dakota was the last of the litter to be sold so i couldnt pick one.My mom had just died a month prior and i wanted a puppy to ease the pain and to have a new distraction in my life.So i went with the only breeder close to me that had an avaliable puppy.I don't reccomend it but thats how and why it happened this way.The breeder had no pictures of the parents to show me.I bugged her the other day to send me some pictures and she finally did.I think i see in the pictures that its the lab that is pregnant isn't it?The breeder told me the mother was the labradoodle.I thought the mother was usually the labradoodle and good breeders use the poodle or labradoodle for the mother.I can't remember why the mother should be the poodle or the labradoodle anymore though. Can someone remind me please? Here are the pictures the breeder sent me.They are not very good i must say.Is she still a F1b labradoodle if her mom is the lab??

I know that Huff's dad was the poodle but then again, I don't know how good his breeders were either (he kind of happened like Dakota did haha:) we wanted a puppy so bad, we couldn't wait but we did go visit the breeder they didn't come to us) He seems to be fine though. haha:)
Kashis dad was the poodle too. I never heard that the mom was supposed to be the poodle. Kashi is a goldendoodle not a labradoodle. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
I don't think it really matters whether the lab or poodle is the mother, aside from the obvious difficulty if the poodle mom is small with big half-lab size pups. It looks like the lab is pregnant.
I don't think it matters--but it sure is weird that the breeder doesn't have better pictures of the parents--these are pretty sketchy--seems like the mom is always in the crate--why wold you take her picture through bars?  I sure hope these two dogs are being treated well. At least Dakota had a good life!

NEVER BE EMBARRASSED! YOU  have a great dog and YOU LOVE HER! That is all that matters.!!!   It really doesnt matter.  If we were to look and research our own genetics. OUCH.  love your baby and forget about all the other s***.

its all a crapshoot isn't it?  stop worrying doesn't make any difference at all.  my best friend just adopted a miserable puppy with tons of issues, do the best you can with what you got. you are doing just fine!!  :)
No pain.  You take care of your baby as usual.  dont worry about the history, you are doing a great job with your baby.  :)
wishing you a good evening.
If one of the parent is Lab and the other is the Poodle, then it would make a puppy F1. If one is Lab and the other is labradoodle, it is back crossed but getting closer to the Lab....This may answer your past question, either Dakota was F1b or F1. Charlie is F1b, because mom is a labradoodle and dad is a standard poodle. She is a stardard size, 23 ~24 inches with 42lb.
The white curly dog...is that a poodle or a labradoodle???  In an F1b labradoodle -- ONE of the parents must be an F1 labradoodle.
That lab is either pregnant or is nursing a litter of pups. As long as the dad is a labradoodle and not poodle, then your dog would be a f1b. Its hard to tell from the picture. He is very curly.

I can't believe the breeder would even send thes pics. The lab looks sickly and miserable. It makes me sad. 8*( I hope those dogs and their puppies aren't being mistreated.
When breeding doodles, it doesn't matter which parent is the poodle and which parent is the lab/doodle.  Both good and bad breeders use either.  From the pictures I would say the mom is a lab and the dad is a poodle.  If he's a labradoodle he's REALLY curly for a F1.
