I Found Something For Minor Ear Probems!!

 Bella had a problem with her ear for the past few weeks. I waited a bit to see if it was just some water in her ear or something, but I had a feeling it was some sort of a minor infection.Don't get mad, but I didn't take her to the vet because I wanted to make sure it wasn't something I might be able to do something about before I had to put her on antibiotics. But I was going to take her to the vet if it wasn't clearing up. 

So I went to Petco and looked around to see if they had any thing for this. I ended up finding this thing called Vet's+Best  Ear Relief Was+Dry. After using it twice, it was almost gone!!! I have been using it a few times a week, and it looks like the problem is gone! And its natural and USA made.

I thought that I would let everyone know  what has worked for us:)

I'm glad this helped Bella, but this product wouldn't do a thing if she'd had an actual infection. And ear infections can be either bacterial or yeast, which require different treatments, so the ear does need to be cultured. 

Generally, topical antibiotics or antifungals are used for ear infections, which don't cause the same kinds of systemic side effects as oral antiobiotics. 

I'm glad this was all Bella needed.

I am glad this worked for Bella.  I would caution you to have Bella's ears checked if you have any idea she has an infection.  We didn't correctly treat our first Springer Spaniel (we didn't get the meds down far enough into her ear and didn't have rechecks) and she lost her hearing. :-{

I was going to take her to the vet if this thing didn't work, but it ended up working, and its gone:)

Nothing, no over-the counter product, can clear up an infection.  Products are great for maintenance, but not infections.  Once the ear is infection free, a good maintenance product can help keep the ears healthier, but should never be used during an infection. 

Waiting and trying different products, instead of good medical intervention,  can make it much worse and it may take many months and even invasive interventions to clear up infections.

Poodle ears are a challenge. I had to learn this the hard way. Knock on wood, it's been many years since I dealt with an infection but when I did, it took so long; many antibiotics and vet visits to get Spud's ears healthy again ( an entire year)

Do get her checked because if you let it go too long... it's a long way back to healthy.

for doodles and poodles, make sure to keep the hair out of the inside of their ears by pulling it.  We use a powder that makes it easier to grab, just don;t use too much. doesn't really hurt them.   Our groomer told us to put cotton in Lincoln's ears when we bathe him, to keep infections and yeast at bay!
