I had such a good time Saturday night. I went to a double bill: Hotel Dog and Marley & Me. I got to cheer loudly during Hotel Dog. I got to cuddle with my dogs during the sad parts of Marley & me.
I loooooove drive ins!
My friend and her 6 year old son and Xena & Karma cuddled in my RV, on the bed above the driver seat looking out the windows high up over the other cars. The pent house of my RV. You have to rent a kid to see those movies. It adds such a great dimension when you get a kid’s perspective. In the sad part of Marley & me, my brain jumped forward to the time when I would lose Xena who is 5 years old or Karma who is 7. I cried for Marley. I cried for Xena, Karma and for me as I nuzzled my face in my dog’s fur, held them tight and cuddled them. They nuzzled their cold noses & licked my tears. It was very cleansing. Then I decided to enjoy every day that I have with my precious dogs.
It was so special to get both movies on a double bill at a drive in that I could share with my dogs & a kid. What a wonderful night! Puppy love from Joy & furry folk
Is it truly GOOD or only "good for dog lovers" good -- I'd watch it for the dog lovers part...LOL But I've become a slave to IMDB.com and have a hard time watching anything with a lower than 7 rating (10 is highest).
Hi Adina, I'd give it a 3. Its good for a dog lovers good. Its actually totally unrealistic, melodramatic, predictable. Not that good. But it kept all the dog trainers in Hollywood employed I could cheer loudly & boo the bad guys bcs we were in a drive in. It was all dogs & kids so I loved the experience. Was Marley and Me really that good. My supervisor read the book and spoiled the ending in a board meeting one day. I would of jumped across the table and wrapped a leash around his neck if I could. That made me so mad, I didn't go get the book. Maybe I will get it anyway and then go to the movie. Too bad we don't have a drive in here. Maybe I will just wait for the DVD and see it at home, or sneak Aiden in on a quiet afternoon in a doggie pocketbook. LOL... He is such a good dog, and still so small. Nobody would see. : ) What could they do, just ask me to leave.
Hi Karen, My philosophy is that its easier to apologize than ask permission. I'd sneak him in. LOL. I didn't even know we had a drive in. Just happened to see it in the paper. Actually we have 2 in the San Diego area. I'll have to keep my eye on them. So fun. No, To bad this American icon is going the way of the dodo bird & so many
American children will never get to experience one.
I didn't think either movie was that great. It was the experience that was. so wonderful. I'd give Marley & Me 5/10 & Hotel Dog 3/10. Just cuddling wi kids & dogs & the freedom to cheer & cuddle with dogs & kids in dog themed movie, made up for the quality of the movies.
I'd give your supervisor a tshirt with a big S which does not stand for Superman. It stands for SPOILER! Grrrr to him. Puppy love from Joy & furry folk
I haven't gone to see either one yet. I did really want to see Marley and Me but someone told me the ending and then I kind of lost interest. I have heard the book is really good, it may be one that I will need to read.
I remember drive-ins when I was a child. My parents used to take us all the time. I missed that and it would have been fun to share with my girls as they were growing up.
