I ordered Otis' food on Sunday morning. It ALWAYS takes two days. The FedEx truck pulled up this morning....and then pulled away. :(

I called chewy.com. It won't be here until tomorrow. EEK! I just fed the last of his food. So that leaves me short for tomorrow morning's meal. I'm kicking myself. I didn't realize FedEx only ships Tuesday through Saturday?!? This is my only complaint about feeding Orijen--I have to plan in advance since no one near me sells it in a brick-and-mortar store. I know I could do auto-ship, but I seem to be going through it faster than once a month. Ugh.

Thoughts/suggestions as to what I can give him tomorrow morning that hopefully won't cause diarrhea or upset his stomach?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

We never feed Ned from the table and he stares sometimes anyway.  Ahhhh - Ned is just himself.

Sounds like you found a solution for the morning, but regarding the shipping- what about shipping two bags at a time, but space them out further- such as a 6 or 8 week autoship? With Chewy, you are also able to go in to your autoship and chose "ship now" or even delay the shipment so that you really can have it auto shipped at any interval you would like!

You can always change the chewy.com autoship date if your estimate is off. Earlier is better than later. You can roughly calculate how many days/weeks it will take to finish a bag. A 15 lb bag is 6800 g. One cup/day is 120 g so the bag should last about 56 days or 8 weeks. If you have the 5 lb (2270 g) it'll be ~18 d if you're on a cup/day. Our daily servings change so I've had to alter the number of weeks every now and then.

The first time I set up autoship with Chewy, I ran in to the same problem. I was short 2 meals, so I just gave her some chicken, egg and sweet potato. Given in her usual bowl, so she knew it was "hers" not "ours" that we were sharing with her.

Rica and Stephanie--I didn't know you could alter the ship dates! Thanks! That's great to know!! I will definitely look into that!

Stephanie (or Karen? Or anyone who might know this!): I've been feeding 1 cup in the AM and one cup in the PM of Orijen puppy. That's how I understood the bag's directions. Does that sound correct? Otis is projected to be between 60-65 pounds at adult. Right now he's 27 pounds. It just seems like we go through food really fast?!

You're feeding the right amount.

Thanks!! :)
