Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have been going through this I need a puppy, I really don't need a puppy conundrum all the time with myself. I look at my breeders website, I look at the shelter website. I convince myself I need another dog. Then I convince myself I don't.
Then today when I was at work looking at Katie's breeders website I saw that they have decided to retire Katie's mom. She's a sweet 6 year old and they are going to retire her for the price of a spay and a dental. And I don't think I can resist. I love Katie so much. I'm sure that her mom is just as sweet.
There's part of me that thinks that life is a lot easier with just one dog. But there's part of me that thinks that life is a lot more fun with two. I just hope I'm doing the right thing. I don't want to be abandoned by dogs who would rather play with each other than me.
Anyway, I'm excited, I'm nervous, I hope I figure out what the right thing is to do.

Ava is a beauty and she is one lucky girl! Katie's reaction?? So happy for you all!
Katie loves everyone! But Ava isn't sure what do with her silly puppy. They are getting along okay, and I'm sure with a little time they will be best friends!
Welcome Ava Grace. Happy furever after to you! I am so glad you got her.
I hope Lori, Daphne, Lucy, and Pippa chime in. I think Lori did the same thing when she adopted Daphne's mom, Lucy. I think this sounds like a wonderful idea and I can tell you...my two dogs still look to me for their entertainment. Good luck and I am so happy Rosie gets a chance at a great life in a loving home.
I think it's funny that we both changed their names because of relatives with the same name. Ava never responded to her old name either. But she knows her new name! I t hink you're right. I don't think they alled her very often for her to know her name. I think she spent most of her time in her pen on her own.
I wish I could have claimed that with Charlie. I want him to have a less popular name.
Well Charlie is very unique even without a unique name!
I think you could have claimed that - or something along those lines with Charlie. It's probably too late now though! I love the name Charlie. I just love the way it sounds. I love Jack too. But I love picking out girl names for my girl dogs. People choose girls or boys for various reasons - I did have a male dog who was a little stink and marked on furniture legs - but mostly I want girl dogs so I can give them fancy names!
Naming is such fun! Thanks, Lori, Charlie is a real sweetie. The name Charlie is a very cute name and it suits him, it is just well-used out here. My Charlie is a stinker about coming when called, but perhaps it's because there are always several Charlies when we go to dog parks. My excuse and I'm sticking to it. LOL
Well you did it, you have 2 doodles. Did mom show any connection to her daughter? So sweet.
I wish they could talk and tell me! Katie was jumping in her mom's face. And mom kind of swatted her down like she would a bratty puppy. So maybe there is still some familial connection. It's hard to tell! They're getting along though. I can't complain.
