Since I bought home my puppy on Thursday night, she never once pee or poop outside.  She would pee and poop everywhere inside my place.  She only hit the jackpot twice on the wee wee pad.  I wish she would do it outside or on the wee wee pad more often.   Also, if I put her inside the tent. she won't stop crying or whining.  Last night I had to put an extra bed inside my bedroom, because my neighbors can hear her crying and whining all night long.  She just doesn't like being alone, she want to be next to somebody all the time.  I need help!!

She sounds like a young puppy to me.  How old is she?  Since puppies very seldom will soil their sleeping area, I suggest that you carry her out once at night and first thing in the morning and put her down in the place you want her to eliminate.  Stay with her until she goes and then reward her.  Never leave the puppy unsupervised inside your home.  Whenever you are not with her, put her in her sleeping area.  Many people use crates, but since I don't like them, my puppies are trained in baby playpens.  Keep with your training schedule and be consistent.  Puppyhood doesn't last too long and you will be delighted with your dog when you get her house trained.

If she starts to sniff around, say lets go outside and pick her up and take her outside. As for the always wanting to be by you, when she cries, ignore her and when she stops, reward her. There might be a better way than this, but it is all i can think of right now.

Anthony, this dog is terribly lonely and scared.  Do not leave the dog alone. Hold it, cuddle it, make it yours.  Your job right now is to make this baby feel SAFE in its new home.

As for potty training, please look up crate training. There is a lot of information out there on CRATE TRAINING a puppy.  It works.  When not in the crate, you both should be outside.  Every 15 minutes, take that puppy out to potty.  Then hold it in your arms. It just left it mother and litter mates.

This puppy will be forever at your side, so get used to it.  It was why I got a dog in the first place. To be forever near me.

This time period it a lot of work!  But, so will be the next few years.

Here are some articles you need to be reading right away.

And be sure to have the crate in a place where you are visible to this puppy so it can see you and smell you.

Get two crates; one for you bedroom at night and one in an area such as the living room or kitchen.

I agree that puppy pads are terribly confusing.  Most dogs end up preferring to potty outdoors once they learn and distinguish between their home and the rest of the world.  It's tough for a young pup to tell the difference about where to go if sometimes it's okay to go indoors and sometimes it is not.  I would ditch the puppy pads immediately and start crate training or at least keeping puppy on a leash attached to you when indoors.

Also remember that the first couple of weeks, puppies need to go potty about every 15-20 minutes while they are awake and every 1-2 hours during the day otherwise.

You'll need to clean the place your puppy peed/pooped with a special enzyme cleaner like "Nature's Miracle' designed to get rid of such odors so your pup can't smell them anymore.  If he can smell them well he is likely to go back to those spots to potty again.

I just took her out because I thought she wanted to go pee etc.  I waited outside for around 15-20 mins for her to do her thing, but nothing.  I went back inside and took off the leash and right away she peed on the floor.  So frustrating!!

Anthony, puppies are work.  You will get there.  In a week things will already be improving.  But sorry to say, if she pees, it is your fault.YOU are doing something wrong. Always remember that one.

NEVER punish the puppy.  Be patient outside.  You must not have stayed out long enough. Clean up all messes with a cloth and place a few of the cloths  in a spot in the yard. Let her small them. She will know then, that is the place to go pee.  Leave the dirty cloths outside in a certain area.   My yard was filled with paper towels with scents of poo and pee. Place them in a spot and take her there each time.  Stay until she pees. Then praise her for doing a good job

Puppies are not perfected with potty training for several months.

If puppy doesnt go potty during potty time he needs to go into the crate and you can try again in 30 minutes.

I never punish the puppy and I always clean up after my puppy.  Yes, it's a lot of work!!  My Golden Retriever was lot easier to train than my ALD.  Hopefully, things will get better soon.  Thanks!!

I promise you, it will.  It seems like the Golden was easier, but really, you have only had her 3 Days!!   It takes a few weeks just to get the idea.

You may want to start soon with bell training too. Lots of information around here on Bell Training.

Start by training the word, Touch.  In a few weeks, once she has figure out what outside is for, and you have started to use touch commands this is a good way to help you for the years to come.

Remember, this little baby, right now, has a bladder the size of an peanut and NO control of their muscles.  They just go.  In a few weeks, maturity will set in.

Stay outside LONGER

Also... Once you start getting success with you pup going potty outside.... Reward her and then stay outside to play more. If she learns going potty means no more outside time.... She will try to hold it and not go. When I trained Shelby.... She got no attention or playtime outside until she went potty (just her go potty command).... Then lots of praise, petting and a good 10 minutes or so of play time!
What is the 'tent' you mention?
