Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I won't lie, one of the things that attracted me to the goldendoodle breed was the possibility that they were low to non-shedding dogs. I understood that it may not necessarily be, but of course I would be one who got a non-shedding dog... no question about it.
Well, I have decided that my dog is definitely not a non-shedding dog... Don't worry, I still LOVE him, but I have stopped trying to deceive myself about this-finally after 8 months. While, there is still a part of me that hopes that after his adult coat is fully in that the shedding will stop, I've come to terms with the hair... not happy about it, but no longer trying to convince myself otherwise!

I do think that I should keep him a little shorter, but unfortunately finances are not permitting that right now. I'd like to eventually get a little set up to do it myself...
This is a familiar face - looks like my girl - love it.
Ahhhhh - I didn't care about shedding (after a lifetime of GSD's), but admit to being agreeable to the idea (after a lifetime of non shedding Yorkie's). She doesn't shed like the shepherd's, leaves little black curls laying all over instead of constant fur flying. We have cats still, now talk about shedding..... My doodle is easy to groom and easy to mess up - she sheds, she is opinionated and she has quirks - she is perfect. My doodle looks like a poodle, people make fun of her - but she has a silky tail like a Golden and fine feathers on her legs like a Golden - how dare I fuss about that. The curls comb out nicely, the beard tangles like mad, but she's amazing!!
Love that you are coming to terms with it - we are managing...
Yes, Salvador's hair doesn't "fly" around, but I can tell where he's been laying because he seems to actually leave clumps of hair where he's been at. His back is curly, his sides and legs are wavy/crazy and his tale is wispy. He is really very easy to clean up and brushes out easily.
He is adorable! We have no shedding but he mats and knots before my eyes!
