Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
So I hope everyone had the most wonderful of Thanksgivings!! Mine was nice but doodless :( The boys were with their sitter while I flew to Michigan and dh was in West Virginia. Between children and elderly parents we try to cover all the bases - thankfully we will be together over Christmas. I was for the most part without internet so I have tons of catching up with you all - and look forward to all the new posts, blogs and pictures. I did have some very interesting things happened while I was on this trip. First, when I left Stuart at the sitter's he was a 7 month old puppy - one week later I came home to see a Goldendoodle that resembles Stuart but that looks like an adult, he grew right out of his puppy look while I was gone!!!! He still acts just as goofy but his look has changed, my baby is growing up! Sniff. Second - I have caught the most terrible head cold or maybe sinus infection EVER and I have NO taste. Which I find totally wonderful as I no longer care to eat - even when hungry - whats the point if I can't taste it. So I realize that we should invent a pill that would cause this - the Tasteless Diet - because at this rate I'm bound to lose a few lbs and we could get rich if we could find a way to duplicate the effects, any medical people out there - LOL. Hold on while I take a few "hits" from my Vick's Inhaler - aaaah - hey do you think I could be addicted to this thing? Does anyone know where I could get the product below? What a time saver - lol!!
Third - some of you know about the drama we had when a young man drove his car through a metal fence and his suv went into the river outside of my condo at 3:15 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. I'll spare everyone the dramatic details (or the visual of me with bedhead, in my p.j.'s - sans bra - running - NOT a pretty sight) and I was no hero but I did what I could, but I'd like to pass along the moral of the story as I see it. If you ever think you are heading for water - roll the windows down - most likely you'll then have a way out. This guy is big and strong and he couldn't kick the window out once under the water. Luckily he is alive because he was able to climb through the sun roof. So now, high on cold meds and cough drops I'm off to take a nap with the boys. I'm hoping for a very boring Christmas!

Feel better soon Jane!
Wow! After our two year stint of unemployment, I thought I was the one with the news that my husband finally had an interview but, boy, Jane, you certainly out did our Thanksgiving. Thank heaven the man is okay. Thank heaven you were there, even sans bra, to lend a hand. I am praying that your Christmas is far less eventful (in a good way, that is).
Hi Jane...
Wow...what an adventure you've been on...for a while now!
Hope you feel better soon and that Christmas will be a relaxing time...spent with your DH and your "boys"!
Hugs...
Glad to have you back, Jane. Excitement just seems to follow you wherever you go. Sorry to hear that you're sick, but a nap with the Doods sounds like the way to go.
Jane - I agree but I'd prefer NOT to have excitement or drama but I feel like a magnet. Boring and dull is good.
Holy crap, that sounds a little too exciting for me in the middle of the night. Hope you recover from your cold quickly. My grandmother lost her taste buds after a round or two of radiation for throat cancer. She did lose a lot of weight and kept it off because you are right, isn't the same eating when you can't taste it! Don't think you want to go that route though. Invent that pill and you will be rich!
Thank goodness the guy is o.k. - I'd have NOT been o.k. if he had drowned. His parents have been most grateful and sent me the nicest thankyou and a VERY nice bottle of wine. I brought in back to FL to drink with dh because nothing that expensive will ever pass my lips again. LOL. Why hasn't anyone invented a pill to stop taste buds from working? It would be the best diet pill ever!!!
So jealous....you lead such an exciting life! Pics please....(not you w/bedhead, pjs, etc., Stuart!!!)
I hope you feel better soon!!!
I have the cold, too. yuck. I am so grateful to hear that the man survived this harrowing event. What a Thanksgiving for you!
Wow Jane there's lots to dwell on here. Stuart all grown up, the tasteless pill and remembering to roll down the windows if you're heading into water! I agree with you about the pill. Last year I ate pine nuts which left me with a horrible metallic taste in my mouth. I hated all food and wondered if I would ever return to normal, I also lost weight due to no interest in food as a result. I also thought what an easy way to lose weight, just remove the taste sense. It turned out the pine nuts were from China and the wierd metallic thing can last for ages!
What excitement. Feel better soon!
